The skirt tabs were not complete when the video was taken. The skirt is now flat against the hull. It will not be very efficient but there will be almost no skirt loose to cause drag. The next craft will have a central mounted motor which will be better.
The motor is to get back to shore in the event of a breakdown.
It will be hard to go straight with skirts dragging heavily: crab walk. Is this an attempt to go away from crowdy places before starting noisy engines ?
Good point, the splitter is well out of the water when off cushion. Any water in the cushion will go out the rear drain. I may leave the rear of the cushion down to allow water to escape. I'll see how it goes, it is just an experiment at the moment.
Are you going to block off the splitter plate somehow? or what will stop the water from going over the splitter plate and tearing out the rear skirt attachment strip?
