Whenever I would die here while facing dark cloud I would always try again because I knew I would be able to listen to this awesome background music :D
It would more epic if my memory of it wasn't hearing while gettting thoroughly lost in that dungeon! But now that I've finished I canreally appreciate how beautiful it is again.
The thing I really hated about this dungeon on NES was that it took forever to reach the Dark World, and when you made it there it also took forever to kill all the bosses, and you also had to deal with a very aggressive final boss right after that - without a chance to save.
I just finished the game on NES, and I was super-nervous since it took me 90 minutes to reach the final boss and I hadn't saved during the whole time.
Sure, later Final Fantasies also had unforgettable themes (The legendary beast, Aerith's theme, just about everything), but this is where it all began. And it's certainly epic.

epicly epic! I miss the extremely long final dungeons that take 1/3 of the total gameplay time to beat...

This is the most awesome music of any final (sorta) area. If you say otherwise, you have the only wrong opinion in this game.

The worse part was:You end up over leveling because of the shitty system and not being able to run away.
I ended up over leveling to fight the final boss.

I agree.

Why did the music not turn out this good in FFIV DS?????
masterogrp 2 years ago 6
Because FFIII is more orchestrated.

the first few notes are the same in the ff4 airship theme :)
napaJX 2 years ago 3
And the first few notes to the battle theme are the same as the ff4 main theme!
lordshardik 2 years ago
you do realize the "first few notes" is just the common bassline in almost every battle theme in each final fantasy...right?
SephirothsFayt 1 year ago
@SephirothsFayt Oh, right, I mean the first few notes after that.
lordshardik 1 year ago
@lordshardik thats actualy the main notes of every classic FF game
if you really wanna think about it FF3 had it before FF4
even FF9 had the notes

All holy things are three, and so is also the third Fantasy the most epic one of them all. Amen.

I agree this is the game the music started to get good. Look down the line from FF3 and you'll see nearly every game has few tracks lacking spirit.
FF3 also started the awesome final battle themes with cloud of darkness.

Isn't CoD from ff2..?
Tyranitar635 2 years ago
nope, ff2 is the emperor. Unless there's a minor boss in ff2 called cloud of darkness that I forgot about.
medfoe 2 years ago
Which there clearly is.
Tyranitar635 2 years ago
... No, there isn't... Cloud of Darkness is from FFIII, And only FFIII

I was already told otherwise. Then i joked about it. Anything you add is just stupidity.

And Dissidia, but that version doesn't count really at all.

awsome song when you come into the tower, it shows you how far you came and how epic the place is.
MissJocelynne 2 years ago
Wow. I cannot believe how I forgot this music from when I played this game - easily as awesome as Temporal Tower as far as final dungeon goes.
