  • hi, I had a pannilectomy 3 weeks ago and coulnd not get lipsuction due to insurance coverage, I am still swollen but my surgeon said it will flaten more over the next 6 months. I still have some fluid but she did remove my drains they were under 20ccs.I can stand up straight but its still very tight and very numb. I was just curious on long all this feeling is and if I am gonna be stuck with flab still or is it just from being swollen and having fluid?.. thanks so much

  • keep up the good work amelia.x

  • I'm so glad I got it done, did my due diligence at plasticsurgerymadeeasy (.) com

  • its day 12 for me and i feel the same exact way you do in this video. your videos are a bigg help

  • Hi again, I want you to know that even though you have been through so much pain you always seem to make me laugh at something. You have a great personality. I am going in for a full TT and so damn nervous and scared but I hear about all the great results that ppl have so I am looking forward to it. Do you know of anyone that has had it done that weights around 215 lbs?

  • I'm so happy for you!! I will have my surgery on Friday..the 26th...I wish you all the best, and I can't wait to see your updates when I return to my mad recovery!!

  • Wow all the best to you, please let me know how you do with it as well. I don't have my date yet for my full TT, however I am so dang nervous.

  • But you don't show the end result? You show all the graphic shots, but no final tummy?

  • FYI: Go look at PETA's video about Petsmart, Massagegoddess! They are an evil corporation that uses and abuses animals, don't support them!

Go girl! Thanks for sharing your truth

  • LMFAO!!!! The underwear stuff LOL!!!!!!!!

  • Hi! I just had a tummy tuck two weeks ago and have watched a couple of your videos. My friends don't seem to really understand the pain and discomfort associated with the procedure and to hear your story really helped to feel like there are others that can relate. I still have my drain in and my doc won't let me take it out until I get under 25cc. (sigh...). My tummy is still pretty swollen and I was wondering, do you remember how long it took for swelling to totally go down? Thanks for sharing!

  • My surgeon told me it takes 3 months for the swelling to go down and the shape to come in. I will warn you that you start with a super flat stomach and then eventually it rounds out even if you are not gaining weight. Dont worry because having a curve is good , concave is kinda unnatural.. Hang in there I know it is tough!

  • HI there. I just had a tummy tuck recently. I only weihed 125lbs. But had some loose skin and many stretch marks. It has been 15 days since my surgery and I'm not in pain but still can't stand up straight. How long did it take you? And how does it feel when they take the drains out? Thank you so much for keeping us posted and for taking your time to answer questions. :)

  • It was AWHILE till I stood straight up maybe 2 months even... hard to remember exactly

  • lol aids tree... you are awsome

  • Im so glad you made this video.Ive been debating on gettin a tummy tuck, for my birthday in FEB.how long will I have to stay off of work I wonder? Good luck. Thanks again for the video.

  • I was off work almost a month! you aren't allowed to lift anythig that weighs as much as a gallon of milk for 6-8 weeks!

  • i am so happy for you

  • You obviosuly don't know me you are a silly person. I lost 140 pounds, I had a tummy tuck not liposuction. i could have run and done situps 24 hours a day and the loose skin would still be there. Why don't you just skate into an AIDS tree already?

  • great reply!

  • LMAOOO....You tell m girl...

  • Her opinion is lame. But the way you responded is just as cruel. You wish AIDS on someone? She says you were lazy? You both have missed the point of what causes someone to resort to assistance to lose weight when they can't do it any other way.

  • I happen to love Louis C.K. the stand up comic and that was one of his lines... kinda hoped some people would catch the reference. I would never actually wish AIDS on anyone. It was tasteless hyperbole at worst.

  • Hope this goes in the right spot.. Iwas commenting on your response to that lifeless hater...

I loved your reply..it was funny as hell

  • You can"t lose loose skin with excercise alone!!! I am 49 and 10 days into my tummy tuck. I tried excercise for 23 years before my tummy tuck. Two 9 lb babies also left me with having hernia repair also.Amelia your great and brave, I"m in pain!!!!! this surgery isn"t for wimps

  • I'm having a tummy tuck Wednesday and I'm really freaking out. How bad was the drains to take out? I'm more worried about that than anything. You look amazing btw.

  • Having the drains yaken out is the happiest moment. Don't sweat it. The second one coming out did suck because it was the longest, but it was short lived and if you take a lortab before you go to the appointment you won't care.

Thanks! It was worth every second I swear

  • so glad you are over the pain hump!! yay..Shannon

  • 165 is not bad at all if the charts say 164..screw that yur fine. my goal weight weight is 215 and charts say for me 180 but if yur gonna keep loosing weight get down to at least 125-130

  • you will have to show us the scars when things settle down (if you want to that is) I have a lapband and have lost 60lbs in 3 months so Im hoping i get to the stage you are at and if need be i will do the same thing with the tummy tuck . Just wanted to say thanks its been great information.

    Beena

  • no problem. Will do. *hugs*

  • You are starting to get your color back. You are looking so much better. I am glad you are happy with your results. Continue to rest.

  • It helps if I close the blinds, when it is too bright I get really washed out!

    Thanks!

  • you look great!!!!

  • Gosh, Girl! You are looking amazing!! I can tell you are feeling better in this one than the last just from the sound of your voice. I am so happy for you! I am getting excited about my surgery. We wrap up the Halloween store the second week in Nov, then preop the 1st, OR the 15th...

I (and my husband and kids) enjoy catching up with you...I pray my journey is as wonderful as yours! Keepup the great work!! (And I am all for the granny panty burning!)

    Faith

  • I'm so glad you're feeling better. Watching you and AprilDawn go through it, the plastic surgery part looks way worse than the gastric part. Do you need to have more plastic surgery in the future, or was this the only one you wanted?

  • The plastics make the Gastric look like a paper cut, seriously. I plan to get my chest and possibly my arms done. My arms pits are like deep moon craters

  • you are really tall! I'm only 5'3 :(...

    kisses

  • Looking good baby!

    Mom

  • Thansk Mommy!

  • I'm sooo pleased your through the worst of it!!!! Keep chillin girlie...

  • I am so glad to hear your not in so much pain now ! and congratts on the panties lol

  • Have you thought about showing your tummy on a video? I saw one TT vid on youtube and the results weren't really what I was expecting. I've seeb before/after pics but at this point I assume those people have gone to celeb doctors or something.

  • Maybe later, I am covered in tape, gauze and a binder. It isn't pretty, very dark red inscision, kinda scarey, but totally fine. I would need to be just out of the shower before applying my gauze and stuff for you to see and the wrapping stuff costs like 10 dollars everytime I wrap up so I don't want to unwrap right now.

  • I am so happy for you, you look so content with yourself, and your body now. Throw the grannies away and now you can buy all those sexy undies.... Continued success on healing and getting rid of your last 5 pounds or so. YOU DID IT!

  • Can I come to your underwear bonfire? JUST KIDDING! I will throw some of my big undies in that bonfire too, LOL!

You look GREAT and I'm happy you're getting back to feeling better:)

  • So glad you are doing better!!!! You are such and inspiration to all of us!!!!! Glad hubby is making you take it easy! Take care! Hugs Kim

  • horay for hubby for keep you rested

    happy your happy

    -barry

  • You are looking amazing! So glad you are having a great year! i saw my dr today and only down 102 lbs, but I have to wait another 6 months before we talk plastics! I'm sooo jealous of you getting both done within a year!

and LOL at the bloomer bonfire! :)

  • WOW.. let me just sit here and look at the crazy statement "only down 102 lbs"... When can you say "only" about 102lbs and it really be true? 102 lbs is amazing. Plastics is coming, just keep going! Congrats!

  • I'm happy your feeling better, i am to actually now if i can just get these last two battle wounds to heal! lol

  • Thank you:) I can't imagine how happy you must feel coming this far and looking as great as you do. I can't wait to be there. It's a lot of hard work and you deserve all the happiness. :)

  • I get so excited when i see you have made a new video lol i am so like "i wana be just like you!!" so 2008 was your year 2009 is going to mine, i have my first appointment with my lap band Angel on the 23rd of Nov and plan to have the band done in January "so excited!!" im glad you are feeling better and hope your not over doing it :)

  • I'm glad your feeling better:) I got my C-PAP machine today. I'm happy about that. Was hoping to have my wls in december, but don't know when still. I did everything I had to except weight is coming off way to slow. I have Poly cystic ovarian syndrom and had broken ankle in 04 and 4 surgeries on it since. It hurts all the time, that and my back. I have 20 pounds to lose. I'm still trying. Don't over do it. Hope you keep feeling better:)

  • Hang in there, getting the CPAP is a great way to prove medical neccesity for the Gastric. Hang in there! Thanks for the kind words.

  • you look super wonderful. So very happy for you. Please post a pic of your halloween kitty

  • Will do!

  • Glad to hear your feeling better!! yay! Try not to charge into too much housework ok??

    Hugs~

  • I am so very happy for you!!!!!!!

  • Burn panties burn!...LOL You look awesome!

  • im glad your doing well you look a whole lot better. just curious, when are you going to do the rest of your surgeries?

  • Well the final recovery is 3 months for this one, may think about it after the final product. I really want the excess skin off my breasts next.

  • So happy for you! You've come a long way. Congrats on the flat/concave tummy! Glad you are feeling better. You look awesome and thin. You look like goal to me!

    Donna:)

  • lol im sorry this is off topic, but what does the rest of your house look like? lol like that one white hallway i always see, have you ever shown your home?

  • May work on a tour when I get it all clean again!

  • Amelia, I have been reading and watching for about a month now. Your videos have helped me make the decision to go for it and have Gastric Bypass, You are a constant inspiration to me and I want to say thank you for putting your life out there as a tool for others... :) Glad you are feeling better!!! Now you know what it feels like to be shaped like a coke bottle :) LOL

  • So glad I have been a help. Feel free to ask questions if you need. I am here to help. Congrats on the life-changing decision!

  • Amelia you have done so awesome! I'm really happy for you and your success. It is amazing and hard to comprehend. I try and imagine myself there. I'm glad most of your pain has gone away! Take care...hugs, Carolyn

  • You've come a long way Baby!!Glad you're feeling frisky!

  • Thanks! I do feel like I am past the hardest part

  • Keep getting stronger! You're only getting better. Thanks for sharing.

  • so glad your feeling so well, so when do we get to see, lol, take care, have fun

  • I am planning to get this surgery in a few months and I would like to know, how do you dress to go in public with your drain tubes?

  • Man... public... you don't feel like being in public.. but if you must you can wear really baggy sweats and stuff it down the front or I did use a small purse with a long shoulder strap and put the JP drain in it with the strap over my shouler and neck on one side.

  • Thank you for responding... After seeing your video before this one, I was a little scared. But seeing how well you feel now, is very encouraging! I look forward to your updates and I wish you well!

  • Amelia, you are so inspiring to watch. I am at the beginning stages of my weight loss journey and I struggle with things, but watching your videos really does let me know that it is possible to achieve weightloss goals. 2009 is my year Baby!!! P.s. I just started a virtual world type game.. one character I was given has pink hair, I named her Amelia in your honor :)

Glad to see you feeling better! not ?

  • Thanks either way, very kind of you!

  • Glad to see you're feeling better!

  • Did you know the BMI scale was created by a mathmetician not a not a doctor.

  • I am so happy for you! Small? Holy Crap! Wonderful! Glad to hear you are doing so well. ~Darcy

  • I am glad that you feel so much better. I can really tell that you feel great. You look like you are not in pain and you look happy. Congrats on the Small Panties and for all of the cute panties you get to buy from now on. Banish the granny panties! Take care!!

  • Do you have any idea what an inspiration you are to us? Its AMAZING that LESS Than a year ago you were just starting this whole thing, and NOW look at you! I get such joy out of watching your vlog and keeping up with your progress! I just simply cant say enough about you! Have fun at Petsmart tonight!

  • Glad to hear you're doing better! I'm looking forward to future updates.

  • this video made me cry. just seeing how happy you are. i hope to be as successful as you are with my wls. thank you :)

  • Let's have a granny panty burning! hehe

  • You and me should be able to do that together!! Called you earlier, wanna hang out sometime this week?

  • LOL...We'll see...I saw that you called...Sure I'd love to hang out..What did you have in mind?

  • So good to see you feeling more like your normal self again! Can I ask a question that I'm just curious about? Will losing weight after a tummy tuck create any kind of problem? Like since you still want to lost 10-15 pounds, will that create any kind of extra skin, or will the tummy tuck skin be elastic and bounce back? Just curious, since I had never heard anyone give an answer to that.

  • I don't know, but to be honest I am pulled so tight right now there is room too loosen up. My stomach feels like when I used to have a pony-tail so tight I had a face lift. I am as small as I plan to be really, if I lose more it will be slow enough for my skin to adjust I am sure it will be fine

  • Wow, I had no idea plastic surgery would get a tummy that tight, that's awesome!! Thanks so much for the response! Can't wait to keep following your journey!

  • I'm glad you're feeling better :) You look like yourself now. I agree that BMI isn't accurate when you're athletic. The hard part is over thankfully!

  • Your still tugging and pulling at your shirt girl! You don't have to do that anymore! There's nothing to hide!! You look great and I'm so glad your feeling better!

  • Your right LOL! but I was more concerned about not wearing a bra LOL!

  • Hahaha! I hear that!

  • So glad to hear you say you feel good! You'll have to give me your surgeon's name since you are so happy with your results... Wow at goal in under a year, that's awesome! Fab

  • Dr Suber Foothills Plastic Surgery

  • p.s. Well Amelia, I have a question that I'm sure I'm not the only one thinkng this. But now that you've come all the way to losing to your goal weight and have obtained your tummy tuck and seem to be at a place where your happy and WLS struggles are about over, will u continue to do videos or eventually stop because of the lack of things to talk about. You've basically reached that overall plateau where you simply have completed your journey. What do you have to say? Will this be near the end.

  • I don't see then end being near just yet. I still have to get used to being healthy, i still have to work to maintain, and believe it or not possibly future plastic sugery still looms...

  • Good. I'd hate to finally get to the point where I'm having my surgery and you would simply disapear. Your truly a spirit uplifting person. I watch you religiously... and will continue to for as long as you still post.

  • Wow Amelia! You look great! I am so glad to see that you are feeling better! You look alive again...I was really worried about you after those first two videos. Anyway, glad to see you up and pain free! Just try not to over do it now that you are feeling better. Take Care, Judy :)

  • Hey, I tried to call you today, but got a wrong number...I must have turned a number around or something. I'm so glad you posted, though, and that you are feeling so much better! I just wanted to check on you, and send you my best wishes. WHAT AN AMAZING YEAR YOU HAVE HAD!

  • Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh!! Good for you girl. Congrats, I showed my mom your first video home from the tummy tuck and she said you looked like death. Sorry, but that was her first reaction. You looked ROUGH!! You look great now and we're so happy for you.

Two more days for me...And I'll be on my way.

    So glad.

    Yippeeeeeee =0)

  • Stop crossing your arms, girl! You're thin!

  • no bra, hiding for other reasons and it is chilly outside my bed and covers!

  • congrats Amelia

  • Congrads for your complete journey and recovery. I still can't get over the transformation from beginning to end. I've been watching several videos on here and reading information as I've been approved to have my gastric by pass surgery to. I just got news Jan 27/09 for my 1st meeting with the dr in New York, I can't wait. I will keep in touch with you and would like to add you as a friend if that's alright. Take care keep safe always

  • The "real" Amelia is back! Yeah! Speaking as a 47 yr. old woman who has struggled for 36 years with obesity, I am SOOOOO happy for you. Listening to you describe your waist and tummy, I sat here with a big smile on my face. Just hearing the joy in your voice. I am having a LapBand put in Novemer 21 and I hope that in a year's time I will feel some of the same joy! Keep posting, you are such an inspiration!

  • Totally, will be getting to messages soon. A little mentally tough, but so fun too

  • I am so excited for you! woo hoo! I was feeling a little green, I might add, the other day when I was seeing your pain..and I dont mean with envy! lol! You're a tough gal and I am so glad that you are over that hump!

  • Glad to hear you are feeling better. I have a question. What are the reactions you get from people who haven't seen you since your transformation? That has got to be cool.

    Rebecca/fl

By the way, it is only the begining. Congratulations!!! :)

  • That has been fun, Just when I think everyone has seen me, a new person I forgot about pops up and they are surprised!

  • Glad you're on the mend! Keep resting up.

  • Don't lose too much more. You look much much smaller than what you weigh! Honestly. Your pants size is very small too!

Thanks for telling us about your surgery, and everything. It's very educational to watch.
