  • I was shocked at first when the images of destruction arose. However, I understand the value. These aren't digitized photos. These are images from human life on our planet. Our work as engaged, compassionate humans is to transform the consciousness that enabled these events to occur. We can't do that if we're paralyzed by witnessing them. We need to learn to see the suffering of the world and still maintain equnimity. Mindfulness practice developes this ability.

  • Thank you for this vid and message.

In regards to one of the images: Phan Thị Kim Phúc, (born 1963) is a Vietnamese-Canadian best known as the child depicted in the Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph taken during the Vietnam War on June 8, 1972.

She now lives in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. On December 28, 2009, National Public Radio broadcast her spoken essay, "The Long Road to Forgiveness". Powerful images...I am committed to cultivate mindfulness to move towards a peaceful loving world.

  • Not killing, not passively watching others killing, this is my nature, but to realise more of my nature, to be content and responsive, and ever alive within all moments, this is not my nature. Advice Buddhism for me offers is to act and live from this moment, the struggle is to stay engaged rather than to separate time and then work from one time towards another.

  • Nice ones, i like

  • OMG! Worst images EVER to be attached to anything related to Buddha or Mindfulness...Seriously...Not at all accurate in the lessons of mindfulness...Please ignore this video!

  • @99mamalove You seem to think Buddhism or mindfulness is all about rainbows and unicorns. Buddhism first and foremost deals with the causes and cessation of suffering, but if you were familiar with the practice you would know this already. Please feel free to add anything constructive to the discussion otherwise please move on.

  • Cool videos, keep posting more...

  • Is this Krishna Das singing?

  • Yeah this certainly isn't 'mindfulness' in the traditional tibetan or zen buddhist sense. But still, a 'thought-ful' video which is kinda the opposite of 'mindfulness' imo.

Unless the point is to view and 'let go' of all those images of atrocity/tragedy, which is useful on one hand but on the other, a little sinister. Religion of course, always has a hand in these horrors.

  • I do not appreciate the images of the world trade center engulfed in violence by depraved extremists or the pictures of vietnamese children engulfed in the horrors of war. I imagine you consider yourself a wonderful and illuminated buddhist who promotes peace and harmony in the universe. In all your infinite understanding, conceptualize that I do not appreciate seeing visual images that make me relive the sickness and horror of this world. Make the spot where you stand more beautiful.

  • Truth trickles down from the river into thoughts whose ideas embodied that form. Meditation is not self hypnosis but manifesting itself in the will, the body, the emotions, the mental chatter. The will to live must be strong.

  • i think you have completely misunderstood the idea of mindfulness. this video is contemplative which is completely different./ the idea of mindfulness is to be completely in the moment. YOU ARE NOT meant to be thinking about politics or images of any sort. for anybody learning spirituality or mindfulness please IGNORE THIS VIDEO

  • @superfuzz How kind of you to attempt to explain what mindfulness is. I am sure you meant well. Continue your studies and have a wonderful day.

  • very nice, moving ...and important

  • Thanks so much. I listened with my eyes closed so cannot comment on visuals or teachings. I did some breath awareness to the beautiful chant.

  • The idea was to put beautiful music to a beautiful message and beautiful images. If you attatch too much dogma to it mnnabi123, it may come across as wired. Thank you for viewing.

  • Music pays tribute to Hindu God Ram and mythical Hanuman (Chimp Like Deity) but the theme is Mindfulness and Buddism...Well I think we must make balance and know before we making. Its really a kind wired

  • i feel like i'm submitting to subliminal messaging

  • That feeling is called the Hanuman Puja

  • is this a good thing?

  • Well, rikkifin, if this was created by you "Just playing around with some movie-making software", then perhaps true inspiration was standing at your elbow that day. :)

  • The words are from the First Midfulness Training which is Thich Nhat Hanh's version of the First Pecept. The Buddhist have 5 precepts, not to kill, not to steal, not to engage in sexual misconduct, not to lie, and not become intoxicated. The Five Mindfulness Trainings can be found at the Plum Village web site. Metta

  • This Ode is so gorgeous, tears running down my cheeks... I hear the name Hannumn in the vocals, is it that Blessed Thich Nhat Hanh quoted it in a teaching, or what? Does anyone here know?

  • I really like this video :) 5 Stars in my opinion.

  • thich nhat hanh should be everyones muse and hero. thank you for sharing the beautiful video

  • Nice. Violence in any form is to be shunned and let us all pray for peace everywhere. Let all the bloodshed come to an end.Love is the only panacea for all the ills of the present day world.

  • This is an Ode from the Ramayana, the great hindu epic. This talks about the monkey god Hanuman.
