  • Still pretty fun to sing along despite not knowing any Japanese...

    I've always wondered if somehow the English lyrics were to fit, but that would result in a different mood and style altogether, maybe even the quality of the song, but nonetheless, I've even bothered to try and fit the English lyrics to the tune, where it sometimes works nicely.

  • "気だるさ" doesn't mean "anguish", it means "listlessness" or "ennui". "上の空" isn't literal, it's an idiom meaning to not pay attention.

    Also, the last two lines are not actual English sentences. And some lines that are repeated are translated differently each time.

  • after being edited, anguish was used as it portrays the meaning of the phrase, rather than the literal meaning. For "上の空," we directly translated that as anyone would understand that idiom.

    about the last two sentences, however, I must agree. It doesn't work too well with the actual words. I guess it wasn't noticed by some that lines were being repeated, also.
