@TOILETISOLATION well I have been into them since 1985 and read a lot of interviews by them. what I said was common knowledge anyway so you're being a bit over the top
I was 12 years old when I was listenin to this.. My best mates older brother And sister worked for NME in london and we used to tape all the white labels......././ I WISH I could have gone to to the gigs and got wasted.......had to do wiv cider and a sony walkman inthe park ( were sum funny mushrooms going ion somerset at the time!!
Cabaret Voltaire: Everybody's favorite sunshine feel-good band! C,V, gave the Beachboys a run for their money for the cheerful optimistic pop department. For C.V. the summer was endless and the surf was always up!
I agree, but Al would be bailed up in the corner by Richard H Kirk, Mike would be scrutinizing Mal over his choice of lyrical content, Brian would be sh*tting himself under the piano, and Carl would be smoking a ciggie in the staff car park. Would have loved to hear the BB and the Cabs collaborate on an album together. Perhaps tentatively titled " The Pet's sound like they're screaming from within ". But seriously....I Love both these bands for their originality. Dennis was a genius !
That would be the equivalent if in some strange alternative history: had Simon & Garfunkel collaborated with Suicide, or Jefferson Airplane finding themselves in the studio with Chrome.
@ruffian1868 yes because they were co-workers ;part of the BB entourage. Everyone knew that Dennis did not like black soul music and that's one of the first things that Manson said to him when he met him. If you don't believe me check out the bio HEROES AND VILLAINS
@emile235 I've read it, and it is just one of the many older perpections of the band and Dennis. I much prefer Jon Stebbins book " The Real Beach Boy ". His use of the Baptist Choir on " River Song " is yet another example of Dennis's open mind to all forms of music.
@ruffian1868 I am ashamed of myself for taking some author's viewpoint as word. Yes Dennis used the choir on River Song and the BB's covered Stevie Wonder's "i was made to love her" and besides "soul" music belongs to all people no matter what their skin colour anyway : )
@NunzOnDrugs the Beach Boys were real proficient composers/muscians whereas CV were art college types who probbaly knew nothing about music so the comaprison imo is not valid,
No, Industiral is many tpyeso ff epxerimentation that Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Carbarat Voltaire, and others did. But its a unique gemnre.
just cause' it has "signal sounds" and other Inustrial samples and elemewnts dsnt mean IT IS. Industrial is known for its Dark Science-fictien thriller atmosphere, the unusual beats and samples major sample layers and other experimentally.
EBM = Synthetic style evolution off EDM just moar larger and epxerimental forms.
I guess it was the one where their old Western Works studio rooms used to be. But could be wrong. I wonder who the children in the photo are very often as well.
I am of the view that the Cabs peaked around this time-perfect balance of commerciality, originality&great vids too-also the slightly hard edged sound of Covnenant,Sword&TheArmOfTheLord definitely influenced TheProdigy,NitzerEbb amongst others...
happens the same with me, and Killing Joke sounds great too!, a band who teach a few lessons to fussion rock/metal bands like Ministry, KMFDM, Rammstein, NIN, Godflesh, etc.
I'm not that lame. I know about Killing Joke! and Nine Inch Nails is one of my favs. Ministry rocks, Rammstein sucks, and so does godfelsh. I am up on my tunes!

Dennis Wilson would have loved the Cabs !

Dennis would have been pushing Terry Melcher to sign CV, like he did with Charlie Manson.

@ruffian1868 nope Dennis hated black music hence his friendship with nazi Manson
emile235 11 months ago
@emile235 . Well I doubt that as two of his closest friends in the middle BB era were Ricky Fataar and Blondie Chaplin.
