  • Sounds good!

  • The Royal Australian Navy bands once wore the uniform of the Royal Marines. I'm not sure when they changed to a standard navy uniform.

  • @ozdaren They changed after the Melbourne Olympics, when all the TV commentators called the Navy band the Army band during the broadcast - the navy top brass were not amused! Got this story from my dad who was in the navy band at the time - went on to become Director of Music.

  • @moisiemo Cheers. The army band uniforms at the time sometimes involved 'blues' and Royal Navy/British style pith helmets. I can imagine how confusing it would have been.

  • I'm a member of the band. The Music Director for this march was a Major from the Royal Marines who is currently on exchange here and is our boss whilst our boss is doing his job over in the UK.

  • is a Royal Marine officer the Director of Music for the band?? :S

  • Sorry, I don't know who the Director of Music is for the band. Try and Google the Royal Australian Navy band where you may find the answer. Cheers.
