@foomiepoo Its not native american, its part of new romantic style of the late 70's/early 80's. Many other bands and people within the new romantic scene dressed like that as well.

People were saying the same in the 80's...why wasn't i born in the 60's or 50's. but the reallity is that Adam Ant and any body else that we admire from the past were emodying the here and now, and as soon as we do the same we will realise that right now is as good as any time in the past...Live Itand make it real :) I agree tho, Mr. Ant certainly looked well sexy and dangerous ;)....

loved your reply and understand and agree partly i agree that some looked back from the 80s to the 60s and so on i lived throught the 80s and 70s in the 80s it peaked from the start in the 50s you can live life now and enjoy it but the attitude and excitment of music has gone its all very commercial now there are some good bands but not exciting most look the same even on the streets we had punks with pink hair or glam or inbetween it is different now that was the past i,m glad i lived it

Plus its easy to look back to times gone with rose tinted eyes, especially in these youtube days where we can go from era to era with a single click. hose great times had plenty of commercial shite too and they weren't all great for everyone. I guess your original comment reminded me of myself in the 80's and the obsession i had with the sixties and wishing i had been born earlier...now with a few years under the belt and mayb a little wiser i feel happy that i'm here and now...its all good :)

yes and there was no law or camera to stop you wearing you rose coloured eyes lol, but as you said its all at the finger tip and a click away, this is amazing because we are all still watching it, and some are tuning in that didnt even live through the 80s, and we are getting back some good memories, i loved the 70 and 80s i didnt want any other time, it was nearly perfect, if i was alittle older in the 70s that wouldve made it perfect then i couldve seen marc bolan never got the chance

i'm repeating myself, i know, but dirk is an incredible album. digital tenderness is pure musicianship. the percussions and drums amaze me.

i find the riff damned hard to play.

Coming back to Adam after a lonnnnng time away and listening to the older stuff again, I'm struck by how dark the Dirk material was. Brilliant, but very dark. This is definitely one of my most favorite Ants performances, though - the whole concert and this song in particular!

Who could EVER forget that smile? Who'd ever want to?

I'm right there with you (it's been nearly 25 years!) Lately it's all I listen to. I love car trouble too from that concert..he looks like he's having so much fun. And, that smile (that face) will be the last thing I see when I close my eyes tonight. Beautiful.
