Oh, my goodness! I recall this tune so well - grew up with this particular album - and this brings me back to some wonderful childhood Christmases! (I think this album is still the best collection of Weihnachtslieder by the Choir!) Thanks for the upload! Vielen Dank!

You're right.Vienna is indeed a very beautiful place and they've got the most amazing golden voices around in Europe.I wish I can go visit Prague,Berlin,Amsterdam,Munich­,Salzburg,and Vienna.But since I live in Taiwan which is next to China I would probably visit Shanghai and Beijing for now.....In Taipei,it does tend to get a bit boring after a while cause it's too small and there's nothing really special about it "imho".

A bit late replying to gzztal but this information has just been posted on the WSK site and thought it might interest. The year was 1967; the soloist one Josef Ofenböck. Glückselig, du Hirtenschar, du warest bei der Herden. Die Geburt vor allen zwar dir musst verkündet werden. Blessed are you, shepherds, you were with the flock. The birth [of Christ] had to be announced to you before everyone else. It is a Christmas cantata about the shepherds in the field

Wooow, I had never seen this vid, the soloist is great, I know the recording is too old, but sounds amazing, sincerilly, since Cencic, there are not new great soloist, but they are still one of mi favorites. Thaks for posting this, is itself a jewel.

I have found old 78's in church faits of the Vienna phenomenon. It is the masters of music and the training they give the boys that keeps this wonderful tradition alive.
