  • rick hellier is a retard "when Parliament decides, it decides for the country and it decides for all 33 million Canadians and commits troops on their behalf. Whether they agree or disagree with the mission is irrelevant at that point in time. That’s how a democracy works." haha you idiot guess you dont have to be logical to be a leader? kinda like harper?

  • talk about the, "tip of the sword', hardcore

  • I'm reading his book, "LEADERSHIP"

  • I'm reading his book, "LEADERSHIP"

  • Interesting interview.

  • i am 17 years old, and in 08 this man broke off a conversation with maj. gen. leslie and another general whos name i cannot recall to come talk to my father, a master corperal, my brother, and I. this man is what the canadian forces command needs, a leader, not a manager. a great CDS, but an even canadian citizen.

  • He would definatly be the best PM ever.

  • Though having Gen. Hillier as PM would be awesome, the next best thingbis Constervatives. Vote Conservative, not Liberal!

and especially not the green party!

  • He should run for PM, no bs and isn't afraid to say what needs to be said to get the job done.

  • I read "The Unexpected War: Canada in Khandahar" and I will read his book next. Gen. Rick Hillier is solid Canadian. Should be PM.

  • True Canadian Hero indeed. I totally agree lewisrhodes. He gave me a new/informed respect for the Canadian Forces.

One of the greatest Canadians. Should be on the next list.

  • Rick Hillier is Canadian great: principled, honest, no bullshit, and proud.

This man is a true national hero. It's unfortunate that he is not more well known for everything he has done for Canada. His name should be mentioned in any list of great Canadians.

If you think that all military commanders are simple-minded and jingoistic, you should read this man's book.

  • Nice Interview

  • I met Mr.Hillier today, he is rock solid.

  • General, I have read your book and it's a great read.

In you're book you were unhappy with the CF at times the way it was run, but you you changed that, or at least most of it.

You are unhappy with the way gov't runs the CF, get in there and change that too!

    You would have my support.

  • @Phazmid i loved the book

  • this guy lost his position..or retired..because he has a conscience and it doesn't serve the elitists agenda...
