yeah!! it depends on the person what genre he wants.. but what is sad is people in cebu don't know what are good bands and what are good music.. heavy metal, death metal, metal core and whatever metal it is still good.. i was just dissapoinsted that the crowd in VMF didn't notice how good sheila and the insects was..
they prioritize those band plays heavy but very blarred musicality hahahah
this is how a band should be.. new wave is the best genre ever.. influence by psychedelic furs, echo and the bunnymen, coldplay and more on britpops.. continue dudes.. this band is one of cebuano's pride :)
try to dig you favorite band who are they influences, for sure they will reply britpops or new wave.. if you love nu metal try see chino moreno influences and korn collaborate with robert smith, the cure's front man.. and if you like a bit gothic i can say marilyn manson cover's depeche mode's personal jesus.. and if you like something heavy fear factory will answer you about their cover of gary numan song title cars.. so why these bands influence by new wave? it only means they love new wave...
how about the album 50 first date?most artist covering songs in that album are reggae artist ... most of song in that album comes from new wave artist try to dig of that album then you'll know ...even smashing pumpkin a grunge band covers song of the church- reptile.. that proves my statement "new waves is the best genre" even bands with name prove my statement by covering songs from a new wave artist :P

by the way, one example of a local band influenced by new wave asides from SATI is The Line Divides.

but I have to disagree with you
on the whole "new wave as the best genre".
Don't get me wrong though,
I love new wave as much as the next guy.
