  • This is how I got it to work.

    open the control panel.

Go to Sounds, right click the recordings tab,

    show disables devices.

    THEN

open audacity, open the EDIT tab, go to preferences, where it says RECORDING it will say DEVICE: make sure its on the STEREO MIX.

  • Doesn't work.

Only records a silence on one channel.

  • This is Bullshit! Doesn't work!

  • noob

  • it works for me

  • I FOUND THE SOLUTION!

You need: 1.Any soft witch can record sound from you input(red hole on your sound card).

    2. You need wire with 3,5mm stereo plug from both sides.

3.Plug one side to green hole, other to red.

4.Open any website play music and press record button on your soft.

Simple and quality is very good for me. HAVE FUN :) !!!

  • thanks

  • I need help on the wave out mix

  • i don't have the wave out mix as one of the options. come to think of it, i'm missing the whole row of that

  • wtf idk wat 2 do i dont have the drop down screen

  • if you have no "wave out mix" option, your sound card's drivers do not support it. in order to solve the problem you need to find the model of your sound card and google your brains out to find the latest drivers for it. once you update it check again to see if it worked, if not your sound card does not support this option.

  • drop box doesnt work

  • same

  • does it have a normal quality or the quality just sucks?

  • my audacity doesnt have the box to choose "wave out mix". How can i fix this?

  • does it not have the drop box completely? or do you not have wave out mix as a choice once you open it?

  • Comment removed

  • I ain't got da "wave out mix" as a choice how can i get it (I Need Some Help)

  • just a tip if you cant get the mp3 converter working. You can just export them as .wav and itunes will convert them

  • that is amazing. thanks dude!

  • The directions for how to select the wave mix for recording is for windows xp. i have vista and cant seem to find it. anyone know how to find that settings on vista??

  • im having the same problem!

  • yeah i'm having the same problem. the drop box isn't useable.

  • Same here. Reinstalling don't work.

Trying older versions now. I'm gonna report if I find a solution. :b

  • i have xp and the drop box doesn't work either

  • I have the same problem :(

  • It took a little bit of research to get this method working on Vista Home, but eventually I figured it out. Great vid, thanks!

  • did it work for ya dude?

  • What did you do?

  • In Vista Home Basic, I right clicked the speaker icon in the tray, and selected recording devices. Then in the dialog box, I rt clicked and selected Show disabled devices (I think). Then I enabled the Stereo Mix option by rt clicking the disabled item in the list. From there I just played the file from the web while I recorded the song in Audacity. You might want to make sure the settings are correct for your recording device in Audacity.

  • mmh, I tried that. I have home premium, though, and It doesn't show me stereo mix when I ask it to show disabled devices.

  • Help! its just static noise when i record it. What am i doing wrong?

  • i don't know if they disabled it, but there's no "wav out mix" option available to me, and i followed what the video said. am i doing something wrong?

  • Thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhxxxx so much dude!!!!!!!!!! awsome!!!!!!! really!!! thx

  • i used to do this but stopped because of two reasons:

1.)if your audio driver is bad (not of good quality) its going to record in mono. you would need a new audio driver/card for better quality.

2.) Limewire and Ares is better.

  • thnks heaps for this!

  • awesome, thanks a lot dude.

  • this is why the music industry sucks these days. theres no motivation to work hard cuz everyone just steals your music. wack!

  • Hello , Great vid. Just one little porblem.. I can't choose anything it's just grey.. ? Please tell me what to do? ..

  • Can't change to wave out mix...

It's just grey, can't do anything there.

  • me too!

  • ME 3!

  • AHEM! ___for XP___ - go to start>entertainment>volume control - click the options menu and select properties - click the recording button - uncheck microphone and check "what u hear" ___for Vista___ - look at your task bar and right click the white speaker icon - select recording devices - right click in the window and select "show disabled devices" - right click sterio mix and select enable - make sure nothing else is enabled
  • nothing comes up when i selected "show disabled devices" only the microphone shows up

  • what version of Vista are you using? it could not work with Starter or Home Basic, in which case i dont know how to do it on those.

  • just kidding i fixed it! ;) this is an awesome tutorial, thank you so much!

  • why won't it let me export the song as an mp3? step 11... not working.

  • it wont let you export as mp3 becauser you need the plugin for it. google search "Audacity Lame MP3 Encoder" and click the third option. download, put it somewhere out of the way (i sugest in C:\Program Files\Audacity). try exporting and it will ask you to search for the file. go to where you saved it (file name will be "lame_enc.dll") and click open. enjoy your pirated music! =D

  • I've been doing this for like 7 years know haha and it still kicks ass!!!

    :)

    Great Video

  • how come my audacity menu doesn't have a 'wave out mix" it only has CD Player, Line In, microphone and stereomix??

  • Pick Stereomix.

  • We only do this because we watn to be able to edit the songs

  • buy the songs, then edit them

  • for Step 4...

Select "Wave out mix" as your recording device.

were you switch it from microphone or wave out mix theres none of them, the bar is still there but it wont let me choose any options, please help

  • hey i downloaded this program and i must have done something wrong because my speakers stoped working an when i plug in speakers it still doesnt work

do you have any idea how to fix it

    thanks

  • cheer man helped a lot

  • Well, this didn't work for me. I guess Vista doesn't have "Wave out mix." and mono mix doesn't exist on mine. Sooo i'll just do this the easy way and torrent them or use Frostwire to get the ones other people have already done. (:

  • Wow! I would've never figured this out on my own. Thank you so much.

  • Omg Thank you soooooooo much!! This is just what i needed! Im so grateful!!

  • i cant find the wave mix on my windows vista computer where is it ? i went into audio and everything

  • neither can i, so it just records like my microphone, where do i find the wave mix

  • Thank you so much, man! Really helpful

  • Worked :)
