    No, it premiered on Cartoon Network a couple years ago, and is currently available on DVD. It is an excellent movie, I highly recommend it.

  • hellboy isn't a kid's comicbook though. Also the story is about a vampire that bathed in young girl's blood. So 1 cartoon network can't show it before the water shed and 2 of course there is going to be lots of blood.

  • This was shown rather late at night when it first premiered (9:00-11:00 on a Saturday night, I believe), so there wasn't much risk of little kids seeing it and getting nightmares or whatever.

  • @junction238 Yeah Hell Boy can get pretty violent at times. But thats why I love Dark Horse it doesen't matter how violent it is they will still publish it. It's not like marvel where it has to be suited for kids.

  • Wow, cannot wait for this! loved "sword of storms" and this looks to be even better. noticed a lot of the imagery and mythos from the comics being dropped in, plus they're really amping up the violence and gore. YAY!

  • Well Mignola was heavily involved but he did the original comics, and like has been said the animated series is seperate hence different. The Mignola style obviously influenced the animation but just like the movie was relatively light-hearted and more action-packed than the comics, this is also different
