Did you read the sound novels or just watch the anime? Because odds are the anime won't continue, even though the story does in the sound novels.

@CookieDoughFK1 If that's all you could come up with, then it just goes to show how incomplete of an anime adaptation Umineko had. Through formats such as the sound novel, and the manga to a lesser extent (the SN is still the best way to go), people have been able to generate plenty of theories that don't involve magic. Of course, they'd sound pretty ridiculous to those who have only seen the anime, but they actually make sense while reading the sound novels with them in mind.

Bernkastel, Witch of Miracles IS NOT FURUDE RIKA. She even states so in the VN that she is not Rika herself.

And that by being "possessed" by a 1000-year-old witch, a 9-year-old girl would suddenly be 1009 years old, with all the wisdom and power that would bring. So, at least at first, they treat it like something annoying and creepy, but ultimately just childish.
