  • Go eastsunrise! Thank you! Well informed, well said. Scotto was an incredible interpreter with breath for days. This recording does show her voice beginning to wear a bit - still exquisite, but you can hear it. Still, I'll take her version of anything over anyone else's almost always - especially her early recordings. When I am learning something new, I always search for Scotto's for reference, among others. Viva la Scotto!!!!

  • Wonderful performance - sang straight from the heart! Fantastic breath control.

  • diciamo che la Scotto non avrebbe voce da Tosca però rimane una degna interpretazione...il bel colore

il fraseggio appassionato, il si finale un pò calantino!! però tutto sommato è stata sempre la Scotto!!!!

  • In my opinion this is too slow but what a wonderful voice

  • This is too much!! was she dying for real? Why is this all slow and she out of breath and her vibrato is all kinds of wide!! She needs to stick to Butterfly!

  • i love this slow version... !

  • This is from the complete Tosca conducted by Levine recorded in 1980 on EMI.I think she sounds exactly like herself. If the tempo is slow (and I agree), ask Maestro Levine. Those who attended the recording sessions said that take after take of (apparently) more beautiful versions were scuttled in lieu of this version because Levine had final say.Surely this tempo is expansive, to say the least. Nevertheless I find it to be quite successful in its own right. As usual her phrasing is among the best.

  • Perra

  • she doesnt even sound like herself here i like it of course it seems too slow though for my taste
