  • No way that this will work! ...is it 59,99? or is it (Gee idiots if you can't use a computer go fu*k your self!)

  • Oh my goooood!

  • Will this cable allow you to edit the file that are on your hard drive? & Put additional files on there?

  • @xHaydeennn Yes it will. It has full Read/Write Support. You can use the attached drive as if it were directly installed in a PC.

  • ...go.

  • @tronulu Go where?

  • Great product I bought it and it worked perfectly. My hard drive crashed and I needed an adapter so I can work on it from another computer and, thankfully I found this adapter. thanks guys!!!.

bought it on a Saturday and it came on Wednesday regular shipping. I would recommend it

  • ok I just visited your site and I think this is the product I'm looking for.

    Just to be sure I have a Samsung HM641JI 640GB SATA 3.0Gbps 5400RPM mobile

hard drive. will the adapter work with my drive?

  • @charletti Yes, it works with all SATA150 and SATA300 hard drives. We presume it also will work with SATA600 drives, but have not yet tested one.

  • è lo stesso hard disk che ho nel mio pc, è uguale però da 120Gb

  • @DigiDavidex We are an American company, please speak English.

I will infer that you are asking about drives over 120GB? The product is fully compatible with drives up to 2TB in size. We believe it will also work with 3TB drives as well, but have been unable to procure one for testing.

  • wtf lol this is soo old look at the monitor for god sakes its compatable with the bin

  • @cmdrun This video was recorded in 2006 I believe. LCD screens were not common then, even in our office. If it makes you feel any better, there isn't a single CRT in our entire office anymore.

  • @cmdrun yeah and the dude is from an early nineties sitcom.

  • Hey has anybody heard about or tested this with a ps3? i'd love to put data on my old drives and use them as storage for my ps3. Thanks!

  • @PanhEaD8675 PS3 drives are normal SATA drives, so it should work just fine. However, I don't think the PS3 uses FAT or NTFS for its filesystem, so Windows cannot read it.

  • @CoolGearTV

but can you use this to decrypt the files on the ps3s hdd

  • @XxHatredxX13

use PS3 HDD Studio to decrypt the HDD

  • what if the data is locked because the user had a password is there a way to retreive or open the files.

  • @ndrew206 Unfortunately not. Our adapter just gives you access to the drive itself. IF the data is encrypted or locked in some way you will need to access it with whatever system/program locked it.

  • how 70s doe this video look haha!

  • All drives are IDE idiot, You mean PATA or parallel ATA. IDE means Integrated Drive Electronics and is simply referencing the tiny PCB on the drives. Back in the late 70's drives did NOT have this PCB and relied purely on the controller for instruction. These days, the IDE allows the drive to be more intelligent. Its a very common mistake but when people plugging products make the mistake its hilarious. Even SCSI drives are IDE. Repeat and learn. ITS PATA, NOT IDE

  • You are correct. However the term PATA or Parallel ATA is a Retronym. That is, the term did not exist until the advent of SATA technology (which itself is a derivative of SCSI).

You will not ever find a SATA drive with "IDE" written on it, however I bet you can find lots of older "PATA" drives that have "IDE DISK" written on the label somewhere.

  • @CoolGearTV : simply pointing out the error. I know IDE is accepted but it is technically incorrect ;)

  • @ShadowEater120880 Thank you for you knowledge, although most of us knew that!

  • Great Product. But next time make sure you can ship it to Canada!

I'll have to search for something eles, and somewhere eles that uses paypal.

  • Sorry GuerraOtilio, there are just far too many complications involved with shipping outside the US. We tried to do it for a while but the logistics of dealing with Customs and any possible returns was just to great so we had to stop. Not even large shops ship across the border! The few websites that do actually have a Canadian branch that handles it all!

  • So wait, if I insert the SATA side into a Xbox drive (to flash it) and then connect the USB to my computer will it transfer all the data being sent? Or will I have to install an external SATA drive on my computer? Please respond.

  • Not sure if I understand your question. You could in theory use this adapter connect your Xbox drive to your computer and copy the data off. However as far as we are aware the data is encrypted and it Windows cannot actually read anything from Xbox drives.

  • $29.99? You can get good ones online for $9.99-14.99 and they will do the same thing

  • The adapter market is horribly flooded with cheap random products that half work, and are all pieced together with parts from like the same 3 manufacturers. Quality is rare. If you are a professional, or if you need specific features, or are just very discerning, shopping for one of these is hell. Cooldrives is one of the best.

  • where can i buy this... i would like to have 1 of those things to0 my macbook cuz i would like to upgrate with 2 or 3 hard driver of 500 GB of 3 TB's Different each...

  • Youtube doesn't allow links in comments so the description has been updated with a link to the page you can purchase one from.

  • Wow sick product. Haven't seen anything this versatile on newegg or tiger. I'll be sure to order one of these from you guys, since I work on computers as a technician. These are so handy it's not even funny.

  • I loved your products!!! =D thanks for being awesome

  • Go...lol

  • Haha, this was our first video before we had any type of video editing knowledge. They have improved as time goes on! ... We like to think so anyway.

  • good options for transfering data and mobile computers, however not a permanent practical solution for performance, do away with the usb2 bottleneck and go for the real deal by using the supported manufactures independent daughter boards or onboard controllers.

  • What happened to the remainder of the video? I hope you can repost the full version.

  • This product is awesome!
