I was actually there (happened to be walking by). The crowd was unruly. Completely blocking traffic, drinking in the streets, protesting (w/o a license) high rent costs in the area. The police started making arrests when people started throwing objects. There was absolutely no brutality. It was just a bunch of kids playing victim when in reality they were being a bunch of jerks.

It's rather disheartening to go to East NY at 3AM to get shots of the cops arresting a guy who just killed his mother for the newspaper and he teams up with the cops to get in the car quickly because a camerman has shown up, like the camerman is the bad guy.

Don't tell me what goes on, I did it daily for 20 years. In the projects if need be, not once or twice either. Thousands.
