When I was a kid I thought this movie was the sh*t. It is still ok but a bit funny to see the fight coreography. Lots of jumps and turning your back to an armed assilant :-)

I remember seeing this back in high school on HBO. This version was the one shown (with the spraying blood). When it was released on VHS, they edited out the spraying blood and some other scenes in the movie (yet it was still R-rated). I just picked this up on DVD in the bargain rack and it was the original unedited version.

True KnightJourney...the guy in the ninja mask is actually made of of scenes of Arthur Roberts, who plays Braden, Eddie Tse - one of sho kosugis pupils and indeed Sho Kosugi himself played the masked ninja while fighting the Granny Osaka part. They didnt do that bad a job considering the cheesiness of it all!

The reason for the mask is to disguise the fact that it isn't the actor who played Braden but a stuntman or someone else who has training and could work with Sho no risk someone would get hurt.

Unless you were a kid when this movie was released you can never appreciate the greatness that is Revenge of the Ninja. Even for all its cheesiness, this film set the standards for the martial arts films we see today. Before it was slow, and scripted, this was fast, furious and a whirlwind of action. Ask any martial arts film director and I bet you Revenge of the Ninja is one of their influences.

Uh.......you have obviously never seen any other ninja movie that Hiroyuki Sanada played in. Watch Shogun's Ninja, it's better. But gotta give ya props, NITDD is pretty good.
