why are most of you so stuck up about martial arts they are there to learn and have fun, if you learn the arts just to fight then you are a true loser, ive done it all my life and never wanted to fight but it is calming relaxing and really helps me with other things by keeping me level headed, mixing it with dance or whatever is just another way to enjoy martiial arts.
Again...For hundrds of years martial arts has been set to music and blended with dance and the music has shaped it and formed it. What you see here is another step in the evolution of martial arts as it moved from accompaniment by drums to added rythmn instruments to the modern age. There are still forms that hold to the old style but even they continue to advance as man learns and pushes more effectively the limits of the human body. Check out capoeira, afro-brazilian martial arts for example.
finally a video of chole that doesnt seem stupid XD
anyway she did all i saw from her (she cant do another thing i think)
except for the boo staff i didnt see her doing a boo staff work
was nice.. but this was more like xtreme martial arts... not amartials art, is like hip hop, is the first video that i like of her, maybe cos is not a video of 100% chole XD
It's funny that people feel they need to post negative comments against a group of people who have dedicated a good portion of their lives to martial arts. Many traditional katas have moves that are showy in nature. Karate came to America because Gichin Funakoshi presented katas to occupying American troops in Okinawa. What is different between a kata and a dance routine that is primarily self defense techniques? That has been how karate has been passed down for generations.
Thank you! I've studied martial arts (Korean Tae Kwon Do) for going on seven years, and it still amazes me how often my fellow martial artists have stepped outside the credo and disrespect others who work just as hard, if not more so, because of an opinion of superior standing or knowledge. It's disheartening. Martial Arts is a way of life, and any who dedicate themselves to it as Chloe Bruce has, is deserving of respect.
Thank you. Dance and martial arts go together. I mean seriously a good dancer can in theory be a good fighter and vice versa. I totally agree with you and I 100% chloe. I was so close to meetin her...damn it. My instructor knows her.
from what i see in this vid, it seems that collaborating martial arts into some sort of dance routine and using it to sell to the masses isn't really martial arts, i find it disrespectful to the art itself, Tho, that is only my own opinion.
Oh okay I see. Though I dissaggree obviously. I think that dance and MA go together and they are just performing for the enteraiment of people and thats kinda the point dont ya think
dance is entertainment but martial art is more then just plain entertainment, to show martial art as it is, is good. But to collaborate with dance, no. You see, it gives an image that martial arts is only for show, not for what its designed for, self defense as well as a sport
Im sorry my last comment didnt really address what you said. I believe that For an individual martial arts can be one of many things but when you are on stage and preforming you are showing you abilities. So this can be done in an entirely entertainment like fashion
Dance maybe entertaining but you are missing out on the hours and hours of training those athelets go through to perform well. As a gymnast and dancer myself, I spend hours conditioning. Each of my chosen sports overlap but they are equally diverse and require conditioning for their own skill set. Dont discount a dancer for the work he or she does just because they are so good at it they make it look easy. It takes a lot of work to make it look that easy.I applaude this woman!

you missed my point and pondered into your own lil fantasy world, when did my comment state i overlooked the training? try and read and understand first before unloading what i considered, verbal diarrhea
You outright stated that "dance is entertainment". This implies that is all it is and of no value in martial arts but if you had looked further most martial art forms histories you will find incorporated dance in thier roots. Martial arts never was simply a self-defence training style it always incorporated elements of tribal dance. You just dont have an appreciation for the evolution of martial arts in conjunction with a popculture dance style. You should have read my continued comments ....
Shes a dancer more than a full contact fighter.

one of the only reasons u found it to be cut and dry technique is because you do TKD......cuz most martial arts movements r fluid..........
