It was called king cinder when I watched it. Remember it well really enjoyed it as a ten year old. I am sure it would seem really dated now. I would still watch it though.
Shame it was made by the BBC. Had it been ITV, Network DVD would have released it by now. But unless the BBC radically change their policy and actually release some of their vintage shows bar a handful of obvious titles, then this one's destined to collect dust in the film library for years to come.
This series was partly filmed in the house next door to my mums in Burnham-On-Crouch. The opening shot shows the Vic public house at the bottom of Burnham high street. Great stuff - cheers for the post !!!
Not sure about the opening sequence (Hackney I guess), but I remember them filming at Rye House. Bobby Garrad rode in place of Peter Duncan and we had to hide our Blue and Gold stuff because the fictional home team rode in black and white.
Great series was also repeated in the summer of 1979. A dvd realease please, soon perhaps?

At the end of the clip, I was thinking that his flares and her skirt will be going straight in the wash.
