Jon is my favorite vocalist ever, a peacemaker, and I like his 70s fashion. Of course, I like him in Yes FAR more, but still, it is great to view him here.
You can't put Jon in any category - he's truly a music legend.. Operates on his own. Really the most misunderstood individual in music. I sure wish he would wright a autobiography.
really Needed this today!! thanx Tony in UK and Vic in canada for posting/linking this wonderful music! i find it ironic that people would post negative things on here, but.. that's they way of the world now and i give up hoping some May Understand.. isnt there some 'hack-up-a-furball' punk/metal band with NO GAY FOLK for you to comment on rather than be nasty here? it appears that most are incapable of understanding the MESSAGE and can only comment on superficial things..bon chance Jon!
@duncan1482 If you mean the t.v. host, I think "useless asshole" would be a more apt description; if you mean Jon Anderson, I hate to tell ya this, but that weird little englishman has probably scored more puss in 40 + years fronting Yes then you ever will for the rest of your angry little life. Isn't life unfair? Cheers!
No balls?...The highness of the notes?...Let me be kind enough to educate..The voice can have a feminine spirit to it....Jeff Buckley had two almost entirely different voices. One was an angelic..the other was a really gifted vocalist. But he had both male and female souls....His music really reflected it.
And Jon...perhaps sings with more the energy of a feminine spirit..but I have always found it to be very moving, and how his spirit interprets
Who do you think is lining up to see Chris Squire, or Trevor Rabin...or Steve Howe...Jon s voice had magic...defining why that is...is spiritual in nature.
Not a "how bout them cowboys!" guy stuff....and I call it ....sorry if this is too evolved
I agree with your good intentions, but lets face it, every religion says THEY are the only way to God. You dont need that. The fact is, to be good is to be near God.
People who spread unity, understanding and love are already with Jesus in his realm of eternal life here on earth and gods, stars above are fully satisfied...:)
I melt every time I hear this song. It empowers me, and it's so universal. I've been listening to Jon and Yes since I was a baby I wish all the best to them.
This song is indeed a very healing song...and as far as I'm concerned, one of my favorites.
As far as Jon's health...he seems to be doing better, now, physically, though not quite ready to tour...though I wonder how he's doing, emotionally. I know how I'd feel if I were sidelined by my own health issues. My bouts, as a singer, with laryngitis do not compare with asthma.
Music wize I was raised on Yes & Anderson. This is not one of his better songs in my opinion anyway. I still love Olias & the Yes album plus few other songs
Um I think this show has no studio audience so no worries about the light applause. I love JA and yes, but this song is a little too sweet for me, BUT his voice actually keeps it interesting! Does anyone know how he's doing healthwise?
This was called "Anyone Can Light A Candle" on the Page of Life album. It's absolutely gorgeous and has one of the most pretty choruses I've ever heard...
My wife and I danced to this song on her 40th birthday and our anniversary. It is definitely one of my all time favs. Jon Anderson's voice is unmatched.
Great song, great singer. I was struck by how nice Anderson was to the (rather annoying) host about his tie. Is he usually as positive as his music tends to be? He seems like the kinda guy I'd like to know.
Hmmm. Jon is a little more fay than I remember as a kid. Still has a great voice, though. Jon, dude, lose the weight and keep your hands in your pockets.
At what he does he's very good. Yes was soooo far beyond Journey's abilities. Yes took music to levels Journey could never accomplish. Perry is great. He's incredible.
Jon and Yes come from an entirely different space. Far more talented band than Journey.
Que presiosa canción y esa voz, que voz.... parece del cielo escuchandola aquí en la tierra, gracias Jon por lo que nos transmites y haces sentir de lo bello de la vida
I wonder why Vangelis Papathanassiou was not mentioned as the real owner of this song during this presentation? Jon Anderson is a fantastic singer but this very song is a vangelis composition.
They're Americans, Vangelis, Demis Roussos, and Jon Anderson have never really been appreciated as they should be. It's not his best work or the best rendition but it certainly deserved more than that snub, it doesn't seem to connect as much in the states.
Thanks for this beautiful moment! This is my favorite song off Change We Must. Yes will live forever because of us the fans who will always pass on this wonderful music that came to us in our life times....Oh and they ROCK! too.
