  • oh and what kinda structure were you fishing?

  • @nealbassin Ill try to answer both coments first thanks for watching

well there wasnt any structure just depth and shad

theres some parts where we go and the fish are around submerged trees and in the other parts they are just hanging around on flats

since they eat shad all winter they go to predictable places; we'll be going back this winter, too!

  • @Winkiedoodles Alright i gotcha, just fishing for suspended fish, yeah they'll do that.

  • dang you guys woulda tor up a team tournament.

  • OMG i laughed so hard at this video plus loved watching yall catch fish

  • @johndeerfan09 Ha! What a nice comment and thanks for watching it. We're already "gearing up" for more similar episodes this winter, either in Barry's new Ranger or my Tracker (when he's working - ha!). It never ceases to amaze me how those big fish hit like that in cold water in the dead of winter. Best wishes; hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

  • WAt kind of bait shad or spoon?

  • @PhiTrnh War Eagle jigging spoons. Available at Bass Pro shops and other tackle shops. Thanks for watching!

  • Going up next month weirs the best place to fish

  • @Ethan1216able find rocky points and drag them with carolina rig french frys should work great in july

  • You just drop it in there and work every lil bit?

  • @MrShepherd99 Basically, yes. The "secret" is the electronics. That Lowrance unit allows you to "see" the fish and the depth of them. You drop your jigging spoon right down on top of them and jerk it up and down. We've also learned how to switch to grubs if they're not on the spoon pattern. Both work really good. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't done it.

  • That's some great fishing for 25 degrees... I am always fishing on Beaver Lake just SW of ya'll, havent tried spoons on them yet in the winter but sounds like a good idea. Keep up the good work!

  • @tsands479 Ooooo! I'd love to fish Beaver Lake. We've visited some friends who live down there and it is really pretty (they weren't fishermen). Give me a shout if you put up a fishing video from that neck of the woods, OK?

  • wow guys can i come with ya next time lol

  • @2rcnuts Wasn't that amazing on New Year's Day? We're hoping to catch them on jigging spoons as soon as the water drops in the low 40's. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • 5:00 WOW! LOOK AT THE COLORS IN THOSE FISH

god, man love your fishing vids.

  • @imakillamann Thank you, you are too kind! We hope to catch some more cold weather fish soon!

  • Great videos again. Have you ever tried threading your line through a feathered treble hook before you tie on the jigging spoon. Its a great way to catch 2 at one time. That would be great to get on video.

  • @jon1637 Thanks! No, sure haven't tried that technique. My fishing friend goes out with a professional guide and then we use the same lures and techniques that are supposed to be just perfect for the lake conditions. One of these days maybe a fethered treble hook will be in the fishin' technique of the day menu!

  • Your videos get better and better!!! 5 Stars again!

  • Many thanks, much appreciated! I bet you are frozen over there in CO? We are far enough S in Missouri that Table Rock doesn't freeze (normally). Hang in there!

  • hey i live in london ontario canada and it is prety darn cold here and i could imagine the water being even colder and i am wandering what is the best way to try and catch some bass out of a river or even carp fish??? please let me know thank u

  • My goodness, I sure don't have any advice for winter river fishing. Check out some youtube vids with tags like winter, river, that sort of thing. Maybe someone has some answers. Thanks for asking!

  • As usual, I loved every minute of it, Don! 5 stars from your buddy in Cass County, MO...."Oh, baby that's what I like!" You guys had to have froze your hineys off! At least you were able to get some fishin' time in before the big cold hit us all! Boy, am I sure lookin' forward to the Spring!

  • Thanks a million, Matt! Yes, it was "brisk" for sure, but nothing like the deep freeze we had the past few days. We might go again tomorrow. It's supposed to be up to around 30 at TR. This deep jigging thing is amazing.

  • That was some great fishing on New Years day. Love the fish effects.

    5 Stars

  • Thanks, Joe! Recent upgrades to editing software; gotta love it. It was warm compared to this arctic blast we're getting at the moment!

  • You're up what creek? Yes, I believe you are right; you're warped. Just kidding! It looks like you had a great time! I wasn't going to watch it all, or just fast forward through it, but I watched it all. I enjoy your videos, even ones of fishing!! Thank you for sharing. I'm glad y'all had a good day! Nothing like a big-eyed girl or a big-mouth bass! Oh well, I tried. Great video!

  • Ann, thanks so much for watching the entire spectacle! I haven't figured out how to make "quickie" fishing videos and do justice to the magnificence of the whole experience ha ha ha! I am really fortunate to have an understanding wife and a funny fishing buddy.

  • It does appear that your life truly is blessed; fun at least! (haha) Thank you for taking the time to share. I do enjoy watching your videos. Ann

  • What a cool video ! Neat to see how the pro do it right

  • Thanks, Annie! BTW, we certainly aren't pro fisherman (that should have been obvious!) HA. Appreciate your watching and commenting!

  • Great day...Love those Spots and Smallies ! Sometimes the wind takes the funny out of cold water fishing...But that proves if you can stand to be out there you can catch them...Looks like it wasn't to bad out. ( The wind ) Can't wait to get out there !

  • Thanks for watching and commenting! Couldn't agree more! The wind is nobody's friend in really low temps. It was manageable, even died for a couple of hours so it seemed like mid-summer (ha). When it picked up it was time to go. Do go get on the Spots and Smallies; they should be deep for another month or so.

  • wow how kool to catch bass in such cold weather

  • Hero, it was very kool indeed and thanks for commenting! Just a few years ago if someone said let's go fishing New Year's Day I'd make them an appointment at the asylum. But, as you saw, you can really catch them with this jigging technique!

  • Haha I was wondering when the next bass fishing vid was gonna appear. Great video. Funny as always man.

    Alan

  • Hey, many thanks Alan. I just haven't been able to go fishing since early Dec (and forgot the camera - duh) so we were really lucky this day. Glad you enjoyed it!

    Don

  • Ah man. You're lucky, where we are, we are froze over! Man, I wish it was summer.

    Tight Lines

    Mark

  • Thanks, Mark! We had iced eyelets on the rods for a couple of hours but I don't know if Table Rock has ever frozen over. Be patient; the days are getting longer as we head towards warmer weather!

  • Lookin' forward to it.

  • looks like a lot of fun, it would be alot better if it was about 75 degrees instead of 25 haha. great vid keep em comin.

  • Thanks for watching! Well, if it were 75 we would probably have been on the same place except drop-shotting. These big lakes are something else.

  • Great job guys God bless Table Rock damn yall had a great day. (yall clowns sound like Bob&Tom) lol 5*

  • Thanks! Who's Bob and Tom? They sound cool.

  • They were an old radio talk show on K-SHE 95 in Missouri Just funny funny good ol boys

  • I don't think we get kshe95 in Springfield. If I recall, it was a St. Louis station; I grew up in Troy, just N. of Wentzville.
