Excellsfun, when I try to insert the pivot table in D4, it asks me if I want to replace the destination cells, there's no room..although I can see that in your excel it can be done.
@ExcelIsFun Dear Excel, in fact the pivot table box replaces the top cells of the Ordinal column. I can see that you are using the other layout, the vertical one, perhaps that would be a solution.
I don't know how to change the pivot table layout, but before you actually create the pivot table otherwise. Is there a way to acces the pivot table options before creating the table?
Right-click the PivotTable area in the worksheet and point to PivotTable Options, then go to the Display tab, then check or uncheck the Classic PivotTable layout checkbox.
@ExcelIsFun , I tried that and it fixes the pivot table, but its after the existing cells have been replaced. so some of the data is still missing. it seems every time i make a pivot table I have the go in and uncheck the "Classic" check box. Is there a way to change the default setting so it stays unchecked????
Hi, I'm in another state and can't attend your class. Would it be possible to get the name of your text book so that I can read more about statistics? Thank you for making these videos. :)
I have only posted the first two chapters of data. I will post the remaing video chapters jan - march 2009. The book is called modern business statistics 3e, Anderson, Sweeney, Williams.

That message means that it thinks that something is below. Try placing the PivotTable in a different place.

Try:
Right-click the PivotTable area in the worksheet and point to PivotTable Options, then go to the Display tab, then check or uncheck the Classic PivotTable layout checkbox.
Let me know if that works.
