  • His voice is the same and still makes me melt. What a beautiful artist.

    Gino we love you.

  • @eyeswideopen48 he's great.

  • otoroerukotononai jino ni hakusyu kakkoii saiko-

  • Missed this gig due to moving offices - pfffff

  • he's still sounding good,,,

  • Comment removed

  • He still looks and sings great. Nice to hear him. I've gotta look to see if he is still touring and if so ....when is coming near Dallas?

  • Talent & genius are eternal...

  • Lounge lizzard

  • Un artista con una grinta incredibile

  • i love this man... !!!! he is amazing.

  • He looks great, he has really taken care of himself and that says a lot about his life you know? It means he didn't spend almost all of it in rehab

    lol!

  • Gino sei un grande e sei nei nostri cuori..!!!

  • Gino is so gifted and still luscious as ever..

Whew and whatta way to wake up!

  • so smooth

Mary

  • excelente amei,,,

  • he sings SO beautifully! thank you, I hadn't seen this one before :)))

  • "Storm At Sunup" in italian..... Cool! Gino Vannelli is the man....

  • Gino, is an Icon, a true Renaissance man. His concerts are the best. I love all his early stuff but Yonder tree is my favorite album ever by any "artist." Inconsolable man was fantastic as well. I just got his newest one

A Good Thing" today and have been enjoying it all day. I wish he'd do a DVD.

  • Absolutely one of the best voices ever ... soul, jazz, groove, class ... his brother had a lot to do with his developing ... very tasteful musicians. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS!!

  • The best voice ever-I've said it for 30+ years now and it is still true. I met him once-amazing. I also think that if people go to his concerts now expecting him to do the old songs the way he did them in the 70's , they are prolly going to be disappointed a bit because he does it the way he wants to and you just have to revel in it.

  • Excellent musicians, nice voice, and havin' fun.

    Larry, Taiwan

  • i have been ignoring him for years because of those horrid album covers of his. I know it was the 70s, put come on already!!!! I might check him out now since i stumbled onto him on the net. he is actually a good singer.

  • He has a great voice and writes all his own music, but I think of him as more of a musician than a singer. No singer sings so little with such enormous effect. He never repeats himself as well and always has great muscians not backing musicians.

  • The guy is just amazing. He still looks and sounds great

  • At 4:55 it's funny that he sings Don't Give Up on Me from his last album A Good Thing, 2 years before the album was released :p, While Canto was released in 2007

  • This guy is amazing,he just gets better and better!

  • Gino, Gino, Gino - your voice is still as sexy as it was in the seventies - and you are too!

  • My God this man can sing

  • What...you don't think Eminem and the rapper crowd can hang???

    I am KIDDING!!!

  • "his spirit is different" WTF does that mean? Of course his spirit is different. Good for him. We all change ... at least those of us who are not made of plastic.

  • Before I die I have got to see this man live. At 63 it does not leave me much time...I have respected this virtuoso since '73.

  • I was fortunate enough to be there but my phone wasn't up to it! Gino was brilliant and the atmosphere very relaxed and intimate.Michiel Borstlap is a keys wizard and 'The Voice' is as strong as ever!

  • Some of the comments on here are really funny . If wearing glasses makes him look totally different , then I'd hate to see you on halloween . I believe Gino sleeps in a cryonic chamber at night to preserve his youth . He looks amazing . Think about it people....he started out in the 70's . My god.....if you close your eyes , his voice sounds exactly as it did back then....and take away the new hairstyle and current / popular attire....he hasn't changed a bit . I hate him (lol)

  • that dude on the keys has some phat chords, man! Gino is sounding real good too!

  • Quelqu'un veut du paté chinois?

  • He's got some chops!

  • His voice hasn't lost a beat!

  • Gino's Still Got It. Incredible Voice!

  • Do people change as they get older? Duh?! I think he's held up well. Isn't he almost 60. Some countries in the world are so obsessed with age and looks. Get some depth!

  • That was terrific - I'm glad he's keeping well.

  • oh what a shame Gino. Glad I wasnt there.

  • Yo GKOSTI i agree. yeah the whole "come along and join in thing" was beyond hokey.

    It was straight disrespectful.

This man is a musician singing in an intimate setting , it's not like 5000 kids singing along at a Pretty Ricky concert where you WANT noise from the crowd. If I was there we'd have been walking out at the same time.

  • Gino I hope you never stop. Just keep it up!

  • Lord God, Gino,

Like so many of us coming up with you in the late 60's-early 70's and raised on the high standard of musical artistry that is gone, you STILL blaze it like nobody's business! Simon Who? American Idol WHO?????????

    Lady Bass Player DG

  • omg! gino ur so handsome!

  • Hi batmanyey,This is Gino and I just wanna stop cause I can't live in this world without love without you-OOOOOHHHoooohhhhOO: )

  • Gino sounds great as ever, but sometimes I miss his brother Joe on keyboards when he's not there...

  • OMG!! The man has golden pipes, even at the age he is now, he still looks very much like he did in the '70's.....Vocal Magic!!

  • The voice stills sounds gr8

  • Je pleure depuis 1973 ( j'avais 8 ans ! )en l'écoutant ... merci mon dieu ... il ne change pas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merci Gino ... merci, merci, merci ......

    Fabrice MAYEUR - FRANCE

  • He can still sing, but man, what a shocker. We've all aged, haven't we?

  • amazing voice...

  • the great voice of GINO Vanelli.. WOW!

  • i hear a dab of tom jones in there somewhere

  • TOM JONES!!!!! brother, you should get out more.

  • He STILL has an incredible voice. Thanks for posting!

  • I sow Gino in 2006 ...in concert....very good..tremendous voice...the concert fantastic...He is so nice...and very sexi....

  • I just found good gold Gino tonight, embedded within this wondrous medium and I'm feeling oh! so lucky to be able to enjoy him once and again as I used to, through my goldies long plays of 30 years ago when I was at the University and tonight even better through all of your sharing, comments and accompaniment. Isn't it great guys? Sweet dreams!

  • I had this back in the 80s, got divorced, lost all my albums in the division of property, made another life and only now found Gino on 'Tube'and realise how much strength he gave me back then to believe in myself. The voice is as beautiful as ever.

  • I wish he and his brothers would reuite and produce another album!

    :)

  • I wish he and his brothers would get back together and produce an album! :)

  • Gino will be in Vegas 2/22/08 and 2/23/08 at the Flamingo. I'll be there.

  • Gino NEEDS TO POST GIG DATES on one of his internet sites.

He is a majestic talent, his loyal fans deserve better info on gigs like these!!!

    xxxx

  • I have most of his stuff on vinal.

I miss the huge Battery of ANAolg synths and the progresive drums. HE 's still got it but lets rock it up like the old days. Gino's till da man.

  • I gotta agree. I miss the Moog synths a lot in his sound...

  • He actually used Korgs in their early days. His brother Joe was a master programmer. He used to put 3 chorus generators on the Rhodes. They were innovators back then.

  • sorry...is there anything of the gist of the gemini...it's my favourite...great voice.

  • I couldn't agree more, pattykad. He's got the entire package...talent, looks, class, sex appeal. Did I mention SEX APPEAL? He's still got it all.

  • Someone wants him to drop the tight jeans

and big belt? Scuse me but the only thing

that matches his talent is his class and

sex appeal. Keep the jeans, Gino.

  • I was at this show.......it was in his mother's basement. Sold out as usual!

  • I never get tierd of this beautiful man..

I baught A pauper in paradise in the beginning of eighties and since then I am hooked..thank you for sharing.

    Regards Tindra66 From Sweden

  • Thank you for sharing this! No more big hair

but he's as good and gorgeous as ever!!1

  • he's so bad

  • I own almost every Gino cd out there. Even when he goes into left field with some of the Jazz versions, you find yourself falling into the groove and feeling reverence for his unique and profound talents. I may have started with Brother to Brother but my favorite albums are Black Cars and Slow Love as well as Pauper in Paradise. Meaningful and always something important to say hidden behind the music. Thank you Gino for all the years. - James

  • Wow! He still sounds very good. Interesting jazzed up version of I Just Wanna Stop!

  • Gino is the fuckin' man!!!

  • It's so nice to see Gino looking so genuinely happy and having such a good time performing for his fans. What a guy!! What a voice!! And so easy on the eyes.

  • I remember buying the 45 "I Just Wanna Stop" and "Living Inside Myself" but I never heard anything else about him after this album.

This man has a remarkable voice....I never knew.

  • Extraordinary talent..... thanks for the clip! What a priviledge for ya had to be there!

  • This is great! Thank you!

    And yes...he's still got it!

  • ty for sharing I want to see him live in so cal hook me up XXX tara

  • stood behind crazy drummer at this concert excellent intimate gig emotional night for me lost my wife in jan she should of been there...

    anyway hope he comes again

  • Thanks for sharing. I keep watching for Gino dates but they are so rare. I would love to see him in small setting like this. He has been my favorite since '74 but have only seen him live three times. Awesome!

  • He's still got IT~!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh boy... This is excellent!! :)

Thanks for sharing. Gino is the best!

  • He still sounds great...but he's gotta lose the tight jeans and cheesy belt buckle...yikes!

  • Hop Gino didn't/doesn't mind this bootleg but he is so amazing that i had to share it.

Wot a voice , what a talent and great to hear from those who met him that he seems to be such a nice guy too!

  • gino and his brother, joe are such a gift from God. they are geniuses in their own right. i have had the honor in meeting them roughly 3 times. they are such sincere kind people. extremely kindhearted and humble. i appreciate them so much. wish they would give us MORE songs. jackie trudel-lane

  • gino has been my hero for many years and that night i met him and he was only staying at the same hotel as me as i travelled down from newcastle.absolutely memorable night

  • never met him, saw him three times, Gist of Gemini period to Bro to Bro. Gino projects love and has unreal talent.

  • Dean T. Reed, you Gino lover, if you find this message...please get in touch. Like our mutual Italian god, I miss your friendship. Your old college roomate from the ancient 1970's.. Frank0

  • Because he continues to do his own stuff is why people still love him. Where was that done by the way?

  • I'm so glad that he stood up for himself and continued to do HIS OWN stuff. The industry has a way of packaging you. Only good if you wanna make money, NOT MUSIC.

  • DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gino's falsetto just sends chills down my spine!!!!!

    snootzie78--GINOGIRL4EVER

  • Great performer!

  • Amazing. I saw Gino live during the Gist of the Gemini Tour.

It was the best concert I ever witnessed. 5 Synths - Drums and Joe at the piano.

  • 29 years a fan...I live near Camden...How did I NOT know about this concert....off to kill myself right now.

  • Thanks for posting this..I found out on the night that he was performing and though down the road from the venue, I could not go see him :( I love gino! and have done for 20yrs years...

  • Amazing.

  • his voice is like clear clean cold crisp water,, wow wonderful, wonderful

  • Thank you for sharing this very precious video.

  • è un grande... meriterebbe + riconoscimenti per la sua grande voce e capacità di interpretare

(altro italiano grandissimo all'estero) love Italy

  • terry you mis spoke, Gino is the greatest as much as I admire Donny, Jeffery, if there was one one artist I could listen to it would Gino now and forever, he is the BEST, hands down

  • ...this man is one of the greatest talents in modern music.A awsome voice, superb composer...!!!

There are not many of them in our days.

There was Donny Hathaway, Terry Kath, Jimmy hendrix,Jeffrey Osborne, Jaco pastourius, ....

  • He sounds amazing. Gino had the misfortune to cross swords with Clive Davis when he was at Arista, who insisted that he recorded some useless song that I forget the name of. He refused to. Clive decided to stall Gino's career, not releasing his second album for Arista and generally made life very difficult for him. Clive Davis is a pompous prick who does not take kindly to being challenged - unfortunately his power within the industry is such that he's done this several times.

  • The song was Even the nights are better. Useless song pretty much sums it up... Legend has it that Clive Davis called Gino after Air Supply (YUCK!!!) went to number 1 with it.

  • Many, many thanks for posting this video. Both Friday & Saturday nights shows were fantastic. The man is an incredible composer and performer. Lets hope its not another 15 years before he performs again in the UK.

    Cheers Tom

  • charme, sensualité, humilité, aisance, un talent unique et innégalable...gino!continues de nous faire réver en chantant pour l'éternité...nelson

  • What a voice!

  • If anyone has Gino singing "Mama Coco" please let me know...I'd love to see him do this...He's such a talent.

  • Gino still has "it"! What a great talent! I sure wish I knew what happened in the '80's between Gino and the big wigs in the music industry. He was at the peak of his musical career and then he was gone. I was told he made some enemies with some powerful people in the industry. What a tragedy. I still listen to his music and wish he had been given the time to create more!
