Mary
Gino, is an Icon, a true Renaissance man. His concerts are the best. I love all his early stuff but Yonder tree is my favorite album ever by any "artist." Inconsolable man was fantastic as well. I just got his newest one
A Good Thing" today and have been enjoying it all day. I wish he'd do a DVD.
Absolutely one of the best voices ever ... soul, jazz, groove, class ... his brother had a lot to do with his developing ... very tasteful musicians. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS!!
The best voice ever-I've said it for 30+ years now and it is still true. I met him once-amazing. I also think that if people go to his concerts now expecting him to do the old songs the way he did them in the 70's , they are prolly going to be disappointed a bit because he does it the way he wants to and you just have to revel in it.
i have been ignoring him for years because of those horrid album covers of his. I know it was the 70s, put come on already!!!! I might check him out now since i stumbled onto him on the net. he is actually a good singer.
He has a great voice and writes all his own music, but I think of him as more of a musician than a singer. No singer sings so little with such enormous effect. He never repeats himself as well and always has great muscians not backing musicians.
At 4:55 it's funny that he sings Don't Give Up on Me from his last album A Good Thing, 2 years before the album was released :p, While Canto was released in 2007
"his spirit is different" WTF does that mean? Of course his spirit is different. Good for him. We all change ... at least those of us who are not made of plastic.
I was fortunate enough to be there but my phone wasn't up to it! Gino was brilliant and the atmosphere very relaxed and intimate.Michiel Borstlap is a keys wizard and 'The Voice' is as strong as ever!
Some of the comments on here are really funny . If wearing glasses makes him look totally different , then I'd hate to see you on halloween . I believe Gino sleeps in a cryonic chamber at night to preserve his youth . He looks amazing . Think about it people....he started out in the 70's . My god.....if you close your eyes , his voice sounds exactly as it did back then....and take away the new hairstyle and current / popular attire....he hasn't changed a bit . I hate him (lol)
Do people change as they get older? Duh?! I think he's held up well. Isn't he almost 60. Some countries in the world are so obsessed with age and looks. Get some depth!
Yo GKOSTI i agree. yeah the whole "come along and join in thing" was beyond hokey.
It was straight disrespectful.
This man is a musician singing in an intimate setting , it's not like 5000 kids singing along at a Pretty Ricky concert where you WANT noise from the crowd. If I was there we'd have been walking out at the same time.
Like so many of us coming up with you in the late 60's-early 70's and raised on the high standard of musical artistry that is gone, you STILL blaze it like nobody's business! Simon Who? American Idol WHO?????????
I just found good gold Gino tonight, embedded within this wondrous medium and I'm feeling oh! so lucky to be able to enjoy him once and again as I used to, through my goldies long plays of 30 years ago when I was at the University and tonight even better through all of your sharing, comments and accompaniment. Isn't it great guys? Sweet dreams!
I had this back in the 80s, got divorced, lost all my albums in the division of property, made another life and only now found Gino on 'Tube'and realise how much strength he gave me back then to believe in myself. The voice is as beautiful as ever.
He actually used Korgs in their early days. His brother Joe was a master programmer. He used to put 3 chorus generators on the Rhodes. They were innovators back then.
I own almost every Gino cd out there. Even when he goes into left field with some of the Jazz versions, you find yourself falling into the groove and feeling reverence for his unique and profound talents. I may have started with Brother to Brother but my favorite albums are Black Cars and Slow Love as well as Pauper in Paradise. Meaningful and always something important to say hidden behind the music. Thank you Gino for all the years. - James
It's so nice to see Gino looking so genuinely happy and having such a good time performing for his fans. What a guy!! What a voice!! And so easy on the eyes.
Thanks for sharing. I keep watching for Gino dates but they are so rare. I would love to see him in small setting like this. He has been my favorite since '74 but have only seen him live three times. Awesome!

Thanks for posting this..I found out on the night that he was performing and though down the road from the venue, I could not go see him :( I love gino! and have done for 20yrs years...
terry you mis spoke, Gino is the greatest as much as I admire Donny, Jeffery, if there was one one artist I could listen to it would Gino now and forever, he is the BEST, hands down
He sounds amazing. Gino had the misfortune to cross swords with Clive Davis when he was at Arista, who insisted that he recorded some useless song that I forget the name of. He refused to. Clive decided to stall Gino's career, not releasing his second album for Arista and generally made life very difficult for him. Clive Davis is a pompous prick who does not take kindly to being challenged - unfortunately his power within the industry is such that he's done this several times.
The song was Even the nights are better. Useless song pretty much sums it up... Legend has it that Clive Davis called Gino after Air Supply (YUCK!!!) went to number 1 with it.
Many, many thanks for posting this video. Both Friday & Saturday nights shows were fantastic. The man is an incredible composer and performer. Lets hope its not another 15 years before he performs again in the UK.
Gino still has "it"! What a great talent! I sure wish I knew what happened in the '80's between Gino and the big wigs in the music industry. He was at the peak of his musical career and then he was gone. I was told he made some enemies with some powerful people in the industry. What a tragedy. I still listen to his music and wish he had been given the time to create more!
His voice is the same and still makes me melt. What a beautiful artist.
