  • Do you make your horses set their heads like they do in dressage or western pleasure?

  • @DBCuniversal I do make them set their heads, but mostly because it helps smooth out their trot, and it is hard to rope something in front of you if the horses head is in front of your face. Thanks for watching the preview. The documentry is done, it is just not out to the public yet.

  • Love your video!!! Keep on keepen the old way alive. You are a the last of a dieing bread. Be blessed and keep safe!! Are you a single dad? If you are you should be so proud of the way your raising that lil guy. One thing though, I know your a tuff cowboy but your lil guy is not yet. Please put a helmet on him. I hate to see you next video with him not in it.

  • i would kill to live and work there

  • think of all the extra taxes these ranch owners have to pay. Its a whole new world now. More taxes so all these foreigners can come here, get free housing, their six kids paid for, and more. And who pays for that, the taxpayer thats been here for hundreds of years.

  • I have been a cowboy all my life and I just want to say this was a great preview and that you shure are bringing that kid up right I bet he is riding his own horse now!

  • This is what I want. Live in the old Fresno and ready to get out. Nice vid.

  • woash woash woash on the trailer they go hell yea brother glad to see thers a few of us left out ther

  • you get to ride 8-10 hours a day. IF I am lucky I will get ten hours in this month. I miss the long days on a horse used to do it but life happens. look at it this way riding stables out here charge upwards of 35 an hour to trail ride. think of the money your saving doing this for a living.

(we still have 3 of our own a paint a palimino and an arab qh cross.)

  • sure your "free', but the ranch owners pay so lttle and charge you for the stupidest stuff [in lieu of pay they tell you] that you never make enough to do what you want when you want. on one ranch around baker mt,out of 1500 a month after everything was taken out then my insur and grocery bill, i made 50 bucks for 30 15 hour days. yep that is freedom.

  • sorry you had a bad experience...i work contract jobs whether is is by the day or month. I have been paid very well for the work and I am always selling the horses that I ride. you are only as stupid as you want to be or let yourself be.

  • ive worked a couple of ranches around the bear paws in mt, and the one thing that has occured to me is that most hands are pretty stupid. they want to be real cowboys so they do things the hard way, and put up with as much bull as the owner gives them. my old man grew up on a ranch gave it up and became a roofer. and he told me there are only three reasons to be a hand. your drunk/stupid, hard up for cash or killin time for a couple months.

  • Hey love the video. I pushed cows all my life here in the Montana mountains at livermore. We always come up on wild game and bears, wolfs and all that crap. You video was pretty intertaining.

  • @dodgebabe011

thank you for the nice comment. Just moved to Billings and look forward to learning some of this country

  • Wow! i ride my horse all the time, hes a ranch-working-horse too ;D

  • Looks like fun but hard work, but with the roping of the horse in the beginning, that is not the way I would have my horse trained.

  • i do it evey summer i miss it win i go to school

  • livin the dream man that is awsome my whole life i have wanted to end up cowboyin bein off by yourself with a good dag and a good horse. that would be better to me then makin a million dollars in some office or building. ridding fences pairin out cows doctorin, calvin out heffers that is my dream once i am out of college i am going to persue it. i cant emagin how hard it would be to raise a son while cowboyin like that. he is gunna be a tough handy great man for it. your a true hero!!

  • I'd take half a million and only work half the time and ride the other half.

  • Really inspiring video, well made and great narration. What a fantastic lifestyle - can't wait for the full documentary in 2009. For more inspiring videos on finding happiness in your job, check out wawuw on youtube
