bah humbug, just about the most horrific film i have seen in a long time.

this film made a complete shambles of one of the most incredibly well written series of books i have ever read. some day the inheritance cycle will be made as a movie using alternative titles...

they fucked up the movie so horribly... the characters ARE COMPLETELY WRONG, eragon looks like a some retarded fuck, definitly NOT a legendary dragon rider who will soon becom an icon to the peoples. a figure to protect everyone. christopher paolini set eragon up so amazingly well, from what he was to what he became, the movie shows eragon as a poor farmer who now has a dragon. big fucking deal, no problem. i see zero change from farmboy->legend. plus the armour, JUST STUDDED CLOTHES...

@ProTunafish What works in a book sometimes doesn't work in a movie. Sometimes Hollywood makes good changes and sometimes bad changes. Still, the book series can not be classified as "amazing". Roran gets far more interesting things to do, the series is infinitely predictable (who DIDN'T see Glaedr dying), and if Eragon goes back to the Elf home one more time, I'm going to burn it down myself! Padding, thy name is Paolini.

@DefconWarningSystem despite its being predictable the book is still amazing the way he created alagaesia... and the ancient language, and the battle scenes, and just how everything seems to fit together as it should. it does remind me of how well the lotr movie were put down, i'd rather have watched a 3hour movie that had a ocnsiderable ammount more detail, then an hour and a half movie that pissed me off. or even have 2 parts, as hollywood is so fond of doing nowadays

We cannot appreciate to kinds of beauty if we criticize their differences. The book and the movie adaptation are two separate entities so we cannot expect the movie to adapt everything from the book just like Harry Potter, some of the books were not good but the adaptation is good some of the adaptation sucks yet the book was so good.

I don't read the book, yet. But I've watched the movie. I love Saphira and Eragon. Well, in my opinion the relationship between Eragon and Saphira was very strong. Coz' Saphira always came everytime ERagon called and needed her. There was really strong feeling between both of them. They were best friend. Together they were stronger.
