there are very few comparisons between bikes and cars, a stock 1000 can hit 60 in under 3 seconds, and should stretch out to a little over 100 before having to shift to second, looking at this I have to believe that the yamie rider was some sort of mongoloid child of incest. LS1 with a Vortech supercharger(at the time). Gross weight of the stock Z chassis is around 2500lb, and that one has been lightened. It's actually changed quite a bit since this video.

As a bike fanatic, I am the first to admit that, at the extreme end, four wheels will always be better that two - it's the law of physics, more traction, more grip and a natural central balance. A fully worked car will beat a fully worked bike - compare formula 1 with moto Gp, or a Top Fuel car with a Top Fuel bike. However, at the street level, which is what it's all about, bikes are incredibly difficult to beat. But good on the Datsun for winning this race!

That's one of the most ignorant things I've ever read. Power to weight will win almost 99% of the time. Aside from that take your "standard" group B racer from back in the day, you could stomp your "standard" bikes all day long. Because of the rules the cars were considered "normal". Actually the first line of yours is the problem. And it would be "spelled grammar", by the way. I also meant the power-to-weight in favor of the motorcycle obviously. Group B required low homologation numbers, so yes the cars were standard in every definition of the word.

Most of those cars did not weigh that many times more than a motorcycle and had the numbers to back it up. Plus, they could go from dirt to street easily in most cases, thereby adding another level to their racing prowess that a street bike couldn't claim. I'm not trying to say that cars are better in every sense. The prejudices of the motorsports world is what gets me. I would rather have motorsports fans come together for the sport, rather than splinter into groups rife with favoritism.

I would never claim bikes aren't fast.Heck, my buddy has a GSX that he occasionally street races, I've seen him clock over 130mph in much less time than most cars will do. There was a site I found for him to turbo his gixxer but he didn't want to, stock was enough for him. My family has a bad history with bikes though,so I will likely never own a bike myself.
