As a bike fanatic, I am the first to admit that, at the extreme end, four wheels will always be better that two - it's the law of physics, more traction, more grip and a natural central balance. A fully worked car will beat a fully worked bike - compare formula 1 with moto Gp, or a Top Fuel car with a Top Fuel bike. However, at the street level, which is what it's all about, bikes are incredibly difficult to beat. But good on the Datsun for winning this race!

For me it's about the money. 12k will get you a fucking kia if you want a new car. But 12k on a bike will give you acceleration that cars costing 3 or 4 times as much can only dream of. Not to mention the indescribable feeling of being open to all the elements.

I think that FULL potential (perfect launch on the bike and slicks on the car) that the car would still win. It may not have a better HP-weight ratio, It's Torque- weight ratio is better matched. I'm not trying to say that cars are better in every sense. The prejudices of the motorsports world is what gets me. I would rather have motorsports fans come together for the sport, rather than splinter into groups rife with favoritism.

I would never claim bikes aren't fast.Heck, my buddy has a GSX that he occasionally street races, I've seen him clock over 130mph in much less time than most cars will do. There was a site I found for him to turbo his gixxer but he didn't want to, stock was enough for him. My family has a bad history with bikes though,so I will likely never own a bike myself.

A big hp (700 plus) street car set up well with good power to weight like a 240 will kill most bikes from a roll.
From a standing start the bike would win for sure but from a roll, I have seen a 1000rwhp supra take out a hayabusa turbo to 190mph
