The RMC don't go through the longest toughest military training course in the world to be classed as any old infantry. They are commandos. 'Nuff said.

No one cares about whether Booties are tougher than USMC or vise versa, each to their own. A real Royal Marine and a real US Marine would never compare the two, they'd be happy knowing that in their own mind they are serving in a good unit.

im in the rifles and we went to use the ranges at a marine base near us recently, it was an absolute shit hole this guys are trained in the worse conditions and we were told had been up hours before we got there (bout 7am) training, have nothing but respect for them

The militia as you say were trained in guerilla warfare and worked with their surroundings,a key advantage over the U.S. Protests and campaigns in America were another reason why the yanks pulled out. I mean if you want facts the US Rangers trained with the Commandos during WWII, but Special Forces draw their training from the OSS and the 1st Special Service Force. Pride is fine, just don't let it get in the way of facts. The Brits have taught us some things, just as we've taught them quite a few things...

@Cruisey1234 during the 80s the USMC and Royal Marines went to the Swedish Coastal rangers (the Swedish version of royal marines) and the went head to head against and the USMC got their ass kicked pretty hard by both Royal marines and the Swedes, not sure how it went against the swedes and brits but i can ask again, but my point is the USMC and big part of their armed forces isn't so good when it comes to it and the often build up big myths about the selfs / cheers from sweden

The constant battle between 'who is better, the USA of the UK' seems to get in the way of facts and valid opinions.
Being a UK citizen I will of course say that the UK beats the USA hands down. If I were from the USA I would probably say otherwise.
What I am glad about is that we are on the same side, though given some comments on here you wouldn't think that at times.
If I were a soldier from another country I would not want to take on the military might of the UK or the USA.

I think you agree our Special forces are best, as we came up with the idea of special forces in 1941 and every other special force is based on ours. We trained the SEALS and some of our officers help train your army. if you are in the army i respect you!

Guys (and I presume it is mostly men commenting on this), why are you all comparing dick sizes on this subject. No one cares about whether Booties are tougher than USMC or vise versa, each to their own. A real Royal Marine and a real US Marine would never compare the two, they'd be happy knowing that in their own mind they are serving in a good unit.
I am a Grenadier Guardsman and I admit were not the best regiment, but Im proud nonetheless.

im in the rifles and we went to use the ranges at a marine base near us recently, it was an absolute shit hole this guys are trained in the worse conditions and we were told had been up hours before we got there (bout 7am) training, have nothing but respect for them

The militia as you say were trained in guerilla warfare and worked with their surroundings,a key advantage over the U.S. Protests and campaigns in America were another reason why the yanks pulled out. I mean if you want facts the US Rangers trained with the Commandos during WWII, but Special Forces draw their training from the OSS and the 1st Special Service Force. Pride is fine, just don't let it get in the way of facts. The Brits have taught us some things, just as we've taught them quite a few things...

@Cruisey1234 during the 80s the USMC and Royal Marines went to the Swedish Coastal rangers (the Swedish version of royal marines) and the went head to head against and the USMC got their ass kicked pretty hard by both Royal marines and the Swedes, not sure how it went against the swedes and brits but i can ask again, but my point is the USMC and big part of their armed forces isn't so good when it comes to it and the often build up big myths about the selfs / cheers from sweden
