A very remarkable leader

The system she describes of world currencies pegged to the dollar and dollar pegged to the gold unit is problematic. First, this ordains the US as the reserve currency by default. Second, as the populace ages no government today is going to do this nor is young upstart nation for the risk of the US re-pegging the dollar to gold to essentially print more money will be too great. There is also the problem of when one economy legitimately sprints ahead how will it's currency be re-pegged?

@jereuter01 Her description of the central bankers scam of having the US pay handsomely for defense weapons why loaning money to the USSR is hardly a Right Wing stance. She appears to be a Libertarian which probably scares you even more as she is against handout-government, something both Republicans (Medicare Drug benefit to buy 2004 Presidential Election) and Democrats do.

this is a smart lady, and I agree some of her ideas, but she lose me when he get partisans. She is pretty solid and even handed, until she talks about the left, all of a sudden she sounds like every thing that went wrong was because of the Democrats. Its a shame, such a smart lady seem to think the right is always right and all our problems is because of the left.

Did I miss somthing the rights we have today came from men who lived under a systems like what Joseph Stiglitz and Naomi Klein's would like us all to have now. I like what Michael Hudson said on 6 min with Mike Hudson. To say Capitalisim is all wrong isnt the answer.

Golfpro: I never said those folks assert Capitalism to be "all wrong" however Freedman absolutest/purist brand of it has been discredited, admission made by Greenspan in homest moment of disbelief. I don't understand your "Did I miss..." comment. "Those" men were hardly in agreement, that's why we strive for a "more perfect union." By the way, muslims memorize Koran & I can say the old Catholic mass in Latin...so what? BTW, Emory U had dish tracking Russia back then - I helped install it.

This lady is a right wing conservative Republican of worst sort, preaching the same old stuff that didn't work & led to mess today. She's a washed up pseudo-intellectual that's all over the economic landscape. If you want to see what her Chicago brand of economics did to Russia, numerous emerging economies in S. America, Indochina, etc. during past 40 yrs. read Naomi Klein's Disaster Capitalism or books by Joseph Stiglitz. This lady is a fraud and embarassment to contemporary economics.

The banks in NY are throwing out the little gold holders on the street to make room for the big money 400 pound bars. Hong Kong has so much money flowing in from our bail out bank funds they do not have room to store it. Crazy world we live in.

If you think as I do the system is broken beyond repair then I understand. I would say that as I see it America is like a person in a coma with all the best medical care. We are fed the best food we are given all the best vitamins and drugs, our lungs are filled with pure clean oxygen. We have air conditioned rooms we are watched over 24 hrs a day by the best paid doctors and nurses who were educated at the best schools but we are brain dead.

.She's laying out what is wrong with the dollar and was never asked what she would do to fix the system. This guy is the lamest interviewer. I never watch him he is an ass. Why wouldn't this woman go some place where someone would actually watch her. This is a disc race as is all of public television.

I watched this on C-SPAN with great interest, told all my friends to watch the rerun 3 hours later. Judy is spectacular, her views on monetary issues are extremely interesting, and her understanding of my native country is rather respectable. The whole interview is the remarkable piece of great TV. Thanks a lot.
