How it works: 2-3 of audience (colleagues of the magician) on the back of the circle made a space and the car went back in revers(thats way was a driver in the car). Certainly the four blocks where the car stands up go down with automatic system. After that people started to go around, but it's already late the car has gone!

@mesasola , at 1:55 to 2:05, you can see the parking brake on the inside of the front left wheel, so if they managed to drive backwards with a parking brake, i really doubt that happened

If the camera had stayed rolling on the same shot and the people had been walking round the whole time I'd have been impressed. However the camera angle changed more than once, then back to the main shot which means inbetween they could just drive the car off the stage and edit it out! The audience were in on it.

@bobbyfinstock it's not a camera trick, the people forming the ring around the car are the ones that are in on it.

The Masked Magician showed how this trick is done years ago. He said he revealed how old tricks were done so magicians would have to come up with new tricks and make magic exciting and interesting again. Looks like he failed in that mission.

Its been edited at 3:19 you see Loui da Matos standing behind a guy with a white striped top on. Then all of a sudden its a different guy he's behind. poor trick and even worse editing. bad form BBC.

@GreatScot007 Here in Portugal (Luis de Matos is portuguese), Luis had a Live show where he made this trick on stage, in front of 10000 people. He also made 2 elephants, a TRAIN and himself disappear, LIVE, after flying above the audience. The edditing is probably bbc's fault, but i can tell you he does NOT need editing, and at least 10000 people can confirm that. For more confirmation, you can also check his "BEST MAGICIAN IN THE WORLD" aka MERLIN award!

@GreatScot007 Looks like the same guy to me. The stripes don't show as stripes in the distant shot but look like a grey colour. The woman to his right seems like the same woman. However, I suspect that at least some of the audience were stooges.

I'm sorry BBC, but I just watched the first episode of this show and have just had to watch Derren Brown because at least with Derren Brown's show the tricks aren't BLATANTLY OBVIOUS. I won't be watching again, no matter how many celebrities you put on.
