I love your enthusiasm in your videos and in this video the stool stepping @ 1:00 is a very good and classical exercise I have used for years. Just one thing try not to loose your stick in the Chi Sau so much this can be fatal in a fight. Train trapping and smothering the attack more (MORE 2ND FORM BRIDGING!!!), not just Pak Sau (which you are very skilled at). If you do this you will be able to "checkmate" much faster. As an example I suggest YouTube how GM Gary Lam or GM Sergio does Chi Sau.
According to the chinese writing at the beginning, the japanese guy is probably under the lineage of Master Lok Yiu who passed away in 2006. It's not soft but straight firm with force and that's the way of Lok Yiu's style as far as I know.
This is not Ip Man's Wing chun, so dont use Ip Man's view to judge. Noone master or knows the entire system of Wing Chun and many secrets left undiscovered! Different lineages, different approaches, they dont look like yours doesnt mean they're dull and wrong! So please, close-minded people don't judge good or bad!
very interesting footwork drills around the stool! i will try this though all i am learning is the diamond system. i am loving these videos. what lineage is this? i love the move he does @ 1:18 he used this in a cpl of vids i've seen so far.i also like the way he he's using enough speed for the student. i can tell he is much faster. i see a lot of the move my sifu teaches. and i am enjoying these vids a lot! thank you!
@yfai the centerline never changes,by shifting to one side or the other he creates a deeper angle and creates a new centerline. this is bo fat/chor ma together while fighting(basic shifting footwork) it's very subtle but effective and in my opinion just as important to learn as the applications. in our class we do a lot of bo fat drills
I see great technique in this Master. In my opinion, its not only the kind of kung fu you practise (In your case, Wing Chun), but it's how one discover the great substance in CMA. You will benefit a lot from training with him. All the best!
this guy very natural
