The scene when the guy tries to poison the dog is amazing. The intelligence in the dogs eyes, when he realizes what the man tried to do is something I haven't seen to many times before. Can dogs get Oscars?

I hate the new poster and DVD cover of this film. I love the movie but why for freakin advertising sake you had to make max on the poster on his right side of his face with cyborg robotic parts? He's not a robot he's just a genetic altered dog. The ending is sorta cute. But hints a sequel that never happened. :(

I first watched this movie when I was a kid. I couldn't remember the name for so many years, only the scene where the cat gets swallowed. Then it occured to me to type in "evil dog movies" on google, and there it was.

i like how they did the timeline at the start of the movie of how dogs have always been man's best friend since the beginning of time, i thought it was pretty deep

@Eagles7sjn I thought so, too. I guess it kind of contradicts on how Max is not a typical dog, not really "man's best friend." This movie makes me think of being kind of a cross between Beethoven and Cujo.

Man! My dad mentioned this movie the other day! When I was a kid, my parents renting it for my brother and I, thinking it was a good wholesome family movie (thought it was obvious with a name like that). The movie store said there wasn't a rating on it, so they were like "meh". It scared the fucking shit out of us. This movie made me watch out for dogs for a couple weeks.

No, It wasn't classic, It's horrible. I felt sorry for the cat, You guys must learn manners, there's nothing classic about it, I accept the fact that it happens without the orders of human beings and happens in nature.
