@MR64crayons Nope girl scouts doesnt discriminate aginst any group, all are welcome in the girl scouts, too bad boy scouts cant learn from the girl scouts.
@Socoolscienceshow ok good, cuz I'm a Girl Scout and I'm going to be selling cookies, We have a new one! Check back on my channel around Jan. 1st to buy cookies! We have a new one this year called "Savannah Smiles!" :)
@benedict170 This was one of my first shows before I had the camera I currently have. So I cant go back in time and tell myself hey guess what, your going to become popular on the youtube make sure to shoot everything in HD and in 3D : /
You should wear light colored clothing. It would make your appeal better. Black clothes make you seem non inviting and they make you look like a terrorist. =/
@srbrand04 this was one of the first sci files I made in fact its #5 in the long list of 150+ sci files. Back then when I was just starting out I didnt know how to bring the audio into my computer without using a microphone and playing the video back, so that noise is background noise that the microphone is picking up.
@Longemo1 Yeah the first year of sci files were pretty short, that was back when I wanted to keep shows under or close to 3mins cuz I was told that ppl just starting out on youtube should keep thier videos short. But over the 3 years I've been doing these, they sorta got an extra min added to them, some times even 1-1/2 extra. Who knows maybe 2 years from now they might be a full min-1/2 longer then they are today :)
@Socoolscienceshow yeah my vids are only a few seconds long =,( but don't worry I still have fun with them=D oh and I was thinking u could make a MOVIE and then burn it onto a disk or post it on youtube :)
This whole process causes a curve like flight path to the styrofoam and u eventually catch it. But let's say u did not catch it, it just continues "flying" and eventually hits the floor or ur legs if u are tall enough. So there u go, the more detailed explanation! No offense and not saying u are wrong...
The velocity of infront the cup where there is high pressure will increase and the velocity at the lower pressure will decrease. This causes the styrofoam to be pushed backwards and towards u - also meaning traveling towards the lower velocity or lower pressure.
Meaning also equal velocity. At the highest point, meaning the point where it flies to a stop in the air and starts to fall, there is velocity change.
Hey, I'll like to correct ur explanation. U are half rite about the pressure thing but actually, based on ur model, it is because of velocity change or difference. So, just after u flick it off, pressure is equal on infront and behind the styrofoam- meaning also equal v
@TheStealthyGoat Im really happy you enjoied the styrofoam boomerangs :) Now go make some & hav fun with your friends. Tell them to catch this cup, then flick it at them & watch thier face as the cups come back to you :)
@FatManScoop1100 I find life would just be boring without a little bit of childish behavoir. As long as you can still be responcible, pay rent, hold a job & provide its alright to be childish from time to time.
It really is I remember how amazed I was when I was first shown this. Which is why I wanted to share this with everyone so they too can share in the amazment I experienced.
This was the most amazing thing I saw of the week I was shown it. LOL After being shown this it was one of those moments where I shouted out "I HAVE TO MAKE THIS A SCIENCE FILE!" LOL
I suggest using the styrfoam cups because they are the easiest to work with. Keep tring you will eventually get the cup boomerang to spin like you see in the video.
Actually there is some intersting physics behind this tubular boomerang. The principle which makes it work is called Kutta-Żukowski (Joukovsky/Joukowski) theorem. Every rotating cylinder which moves through a liquid or gas porduces lift force. It is possible to build i.e. an aircraft which would utilize a rotating cylinders instead of fixed wings and fly. It would be cool to make an R/C model ilustrating this phenomenon :D.
That just goes to show everyone even the simplest science expirment could make the future. I would buy a fling car that made use of a rotating cylindar instead of a fixed wing or a rotar!
Did you notice that Chris promotes his videos by spamming them as responses to other video that aren't related in the slightest because he likes words like fuck, bitch, cunt muffin, ass, dick, shit, and his personal favorite, nigger.
So what? maybe he's just trying to promote his videos??? and what video is this one responding to??? i dont see the link at the bottom of the vid. Why u hate Chris so much?
You know how awesome this video is? It's soo awesome, I made one of these boomerangs my brothers cried and told me to make them one and didn't stop crying till' they knew how to use it -.-.
