I loved the huge Heartless to fight in the first game... but then they started putting him in the other games and he became to common and easy. This boss became a joke, but was badass when you first encounter him in KH1.

@Lunaraia You fight it about 3 times in KH1, a bunch of times in missions in 358/2 days, once in Re:coded, and once in CoM as you said. Darkside appears in every game but in KH2/ BBS he's only in cutscenes. Well in KH2 you do fight Twilight Thorn which is basically the Nobody form of Darkside, but I guess they aren't too similar besides being big and the way they're presented.

@zDallasCowboys008z I know what you mean. In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, on the mission where you have to defeat the Darkside, I can take him out with just 1 hit, 2 MAX. Even the Dark Follower (the advanced form of Darkside for those who don't know) is easy. It really makes me sad that I'm too powerful to fight him now. T_T Anyone else agree?

A nobody, on the other hand, is more like a dolphin: They are intelligent, and are capable of strategics, able to create a plan and follow it.

However, A dolphin will almost always have it's flippers ripped clean off if it gets into a conflict with a similar sized shark, especially in a contested feeding ground.

Therefore, Darkside beats Twilight Thorn any day.

it's not a stupid question. no, darkside is not sora's heartless. In the begining of the game, Sora's in a dream, the heartless in there are only a fragment of his fear and what he's going to go thru later. Trust me, there's FAR more than one of these guys. watch the scene after you beat Final Asem.

Its kinda like a commando or guerilla unit versus traditional army concept of battlefield tactics.

Darkside was the best boss in the game in my opinion! He was no show, no flash, no theatrics. He just appeared out of nowhere, and without a word, proceeded to smash Sora to pieces! Best part? You have to kill him *3 times!* Darkside for the win!

nr 1 in sora's dream,

nr 2 on destiny island: right after you received the keyblade and kairi disappears and that the keyhole of destiny island opens your are blown outside there you encounter darkside

nr 3 again on destiny: right after your first round with "ansem" he falls back to the middle of the island and the island breaks, sora jumps in but goofy and donald are left out by a barrier

now that i think about it you fight darkside always 1-on-1, ow good times kicking ass :P
