READ THIS IT IS IMPORTANT TO ALL THE PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS:when something comes up and says your computer is infested and it wants you to delete the viruses...DON'T! the thing that comes up is the spyware itself. It's called a hydra virus or something and what it does is that when you delete the spyware, it could make 5x viruses than what you deleted.So if that comes up and you delete like 50+ viruses...your pretty much screwed unless you get geeksquad or someone to come and fix it for you.

System tools is is a fake anti-virus program whos goal is to scare people into purchasing it. the background picture which says "warning your in danger! your computer is infected." or "you have 38 infections!" is fake.

I have this too, and I'm trying to figure out how to remove it without having to pay. For now, I would suggest to go in "safe mode with networking" and research how to remove it, hopefully for free. some people can remove it easily, others,like me :-( , are not so lucky.

@frogmonkey88 This works with most people: go on safe mode, go to the start menu, click on "all programs", then click on "accessories", then go to "system tools", then go to "system restore", and select it to a date before system tools hacked your computer. then Windows will restart your computer, and when it turns back on the virus will be gone.

Hey guys i recently got a very very very bad spyware , its actually a bran new one , its called SYSTEM TOOL 2011. it changes ur homepage to a big warning sign, it also inected my task manager which actually deleted the command to even acces it slowed my computer and also came with a fake antivirus that may download shit to ur comp anyways thankyou for your tutorial and i hope this helps !

@unclepie924 something like this happened to me before, its a malicious program that got downloaded, but basically its malware/virus itself, restart your computer and choose safe mode, once your back into your computer scan your computer with an antivirus program, if you think you dont have on your wrong, its called microsoft security essentials and scan your computer with that, if it doesnt find anything then do the scan with malwarebytes and see if that helps

I have antivirus (Kalpersky 2010) with proactive scan. It keeps reading that there is something wrong with exerunner. I surfed really quick and found out that sometimes exerunner gets infected and pretends to be normal exerunner, bogging my computer down silently. I have noticed performance issues with some programs (like games, internet explorer, ect.) and there are even occations that my computer crashes (or the program). My question is, do I have spyware?

@Nxluda Try looking for The spywares service in task manger if you can't start task try going to your hard drive and look for a called "Windows" then look for a folder in windows called "System 32" then look for a program called " taskmgr" rename it to iexplorer then click on it go to processes and look for a process with randow letters or numbers the click on end process a box will come up just hit yes then run anit spyware program to get rid of system restore will not help

the only anti-virus program I use is Norton from Symantec. I have Norton 360 which does more than just resolving computer security issues. it's about $80 and works great.
