professional? realy... no u dont need one, u just have to know what you are doing the right steps.. just be sure your using the right steps for ur car as every car is different in a way. Just keep in mind disengage the air bag harnes wire !!! and keep ur wheels STRAIGHT!
@genre926@genre926 just email us what you are looking for w/ the quick release, hub, lock and wheel and we'll put it together and send you the paypal request. there's too many combo's for all of these items to create a combo kit.
@skatersm2 You could take out the light bulb or put some black electrical tape over the light, or you could buy a Works Bell U Turn-Harness and plug that in. It'll turn your light off and keep the passenger airbag working.
@jonsalcedo24 Never got your email. the quick release is universal. the short hub that you will need is in the drop down menu for that product - SRK-100H for the 92+ Mitsubishi lancer.
@preddyboipeezy - horn will work, airbag no. you will also need a hub specific for your car. see the product page link above and hemihunter's comment below.
@luke1991132 horn will work. are you currently running an aftermarket hub/steering wheel combo? the quick release is universal 6 or 5 bolt setup. you just need a hub specific for your car.
@HemiHunter - you will need a hub specific for your car. I believe the NRG one for all of the domestics will work for you. go to the product page and check out SRK-170H
the lock is nice for a race prepped car that no longer has locks, take for instance my car. it will be getting a new steering wheel and lock in 2 months for shows and events. while it's in the garage I'm not too concerned with the lock.
@livesockets Yes, I understand. I deeply research everything I buy if it's over $60.
But what I'm saying is, why would I buy it? It could be useful for long term storage to have more peace of mind, but if your car's locked, and you have the steering wheel, why would you need a lock?
Not to sound stupid, but who honestly would walk up to my car holding an NRG ready-to-mount steering wheel?
@Zzyyzzxx7 i agree 1/2 way. as a pro am level drifter myself i agree that it does look hella cool when you walk in to school with your wheel tied to our backpack. you look like a total badass. but the other thing is there is a possibility of your car being stolen (VERY SLIM) and some people who nothing about cars will call you a dumbass
@fizul85 that and also for race cars where space is limited. it's easier to get out of with this setup especially if you have a cage and tight seating position.
@rastaskanking - if your car has the stock steering wheel, then you need the quick release and a hub specific for your car. Check out the link in the info box up top and you should be able to find everything that you need.
@livesockets how will i delete the srs? is there something that connects to the air bag or do i need to get into the cluster and remove the bulb to get rid of the srs light? and i heard scienceofspeed has a way to keep the cruise control, but im not sure how that works.
I'm buying a HKB quick release and i was wondering if there is a Lock for the HKB quick release. I been looking for a lock but i cant find a HKB lock. Will the NRG lock fit the HKB quick release?

@TheNalgatronix check the 247motoring URL in the description to see pricing.
livesockets 8 months ago
I'd like to do this.
But is the lock necessary? All I really want it for is to be able to strap my steering wheel to my backpack like in Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
I know I shouldn't relate that to real life, but it's a cool idea, and I'll look so badass
Zzyyzzxx7 11 months ago
@Zzyyzzxx7 the lock is optional. it can be used to prevent tampering w/ the setup when you have the steering wheel detached.
livesockets 11 months ago
@livesockets Yes, I understand. I deeply research everything I buy if it's over $60.
Zzyyzzxx7 11 months ago
@Zzyyzzxx7 some people just want the added security of the lock. they feature a set of keys that are specifically cut for that corresponding lock.
livesockets 11 months ago
@livesockets I guess. Oh well, I just don't see why I'd buy one.
But hey, I don't have to so who cares
