  • I understand how to use the clamp on my Acutus. The problem I have is that the lower black metal section turns as I am clamping down, scraping and marring the record label. Not a big deal with some records, but on an LP such as a Blue Note (with a white label) it can cause visible damage, compromising the value of the record. MoFis and promos also have white labels, inhibiting me from clamping too hard on them. Is there a way to cushion the bottom of the clamp? Felt or rubber?

  • @cpreal21 I will check with Conrad for you and post the answer

  • @cpreal21 Hi I have checked with Conrad and he says yes you can use a felt ring (not rubber) under the outer edge of the clamp. Just make sure this does not go over the stainless ring in the centre as this clamps the record to the bearing.

  • @cpreal21 Hi I dont know if this idea helps, To prevent damage on any of my record labels I cut out a circle of black card and place it on top of the label then place the clamp over the top.... works like a charm ;)

    Regards.

  • why not make it easier
