The Yamaha CS80 is probably my ultimate synth and I long for the BLUES... but.... sorry... leave the integration of the two to Vangelis... saying that still daaded you to my favs
Great video :) The CS80 keyboard is the most expressive ever built. I am trying to find one here in Australia but they are few and far between... I really don't like the idea of shipping one from overseas and then spending two days tuning it :)
@backindauk Shipping one in would be worth it... and 'tuning' is something you'll need to get good at anyway if you find one. It might take you 2 days at first - but once you get the hang of it you'll be tweaking the beast in half a day!! Good Luck.
@noddyspuncture I do work on quite a lot of synths... I'm about to restore a CS60. Where do you recommend i look for a CS80 to buy? I have seen people who own three or four... Crazy!
@BreamBum Thank you, yes it's an amazing instrument the CS80. It's almost 'alive' with character. They don't make them like this anymore... and unfortunately, never will again.
@PimpinBassie2 Worry not, she gets covered every night to keep her warm. Her brother sleeps in the basement.... it's warmer down there because the central heating pipes see to that - but he still has a dust cover to keep him safe... ;c) They are my babies...and the only kind I'll ever have..!
@U5096 It was a one-off... caught on phone-camera by a friend! Another attempt would sound contrived..!?! However I do have another CS80 idea and might record that one soon. Meanwhile please take a look to my other vids. There are some CS70M ones I have made... also a couple of CS80 mess-abouts.
@TheModCon Do you know... I've not watched this in ages - and you're right, it IS pretty good...;c) Thanks for your comment. I really must do a new one sometime!
At last! a cs80 on Yt that actually does the cs80 some justice...I'm speechless.. superb playing and looked like you really enjoyed it:):) I could hear the poly aftertouch even on your cameraphone, f**k i'm just gobsmacked, gotta watch it again!! I'm green with envy ,but that just put me in a really good mood:) THIS is what a cs80 should be doing on youtube! all you extremely lucky cs80 owners hang your head in shame, hope this guy inspires you all :):):)
I really couldn't have a better compliment - thank you.. ;c) Actually the CS-80 emerged from the same technology that produced the GX-1. Apparently the GX-1 project was the R&D for the CS series that followed. Cheerz.
Looks like it was filmed on 80's videotape.

YEAH!!!!!!
I've (we've) been waiting months for someone to post a new CS 80 video... thank you so much!
And it's brilliant, too. Not the context/musical style one would expect either--a refreshing surprise!
The end is of course PERFECT... gotta love that ring mod.
Cheers!
