are we having another wave of the hippie, alternative? i hope so... i am riding it. great documentary... want so much to do some music. cant really play any instrument, can sing and love it. would love to do guitar and piano. find it hard to learn, but feel as i get older npow (31 ) i am feeling better about learnin. xxx
i love how all of the people that comment on cocorosie, banhart, antony, etc. they know who the enlightened family is nd we all know what they are talking about ;)
i love bunyan, she's so gentle and observant. i find banhart a bit pretentious (sp?) though :s ah well, cocorosie will always be my favourites - such gorgeous sisters (:
this music is so real......they are really speaking about what it's like to be alive in 2009.....they are not pretnetious.......they are authentic 100%.....they will be this way till they die.......they are children.....they are radical......they are revolutionary........they are not followers
God Devendra Banhart overcompensates soooooo much he should bring it down a notch and be REAL, though I would also feel as though i needed to overcompensate in the presence of Sierra, Bianca, and Antony :D
Right, but Can't Find My Way Home had a huge audience... your logic (same as mine once was) suggests that people should only be creative if they're the best of the best, or can appeal to the masses... (Those don't necessarily go hand-in-hand these days). Why not allow/promote smaller creative groups? Sure they may not be the best around, but the expression of creativity through music/art is much more necessary on this planet than, say, more consumer products.
that song is called 'cant find my way home' and it's from the blind faith's self titled album. both steve winwood and eric clapton perform it. Swans (whose frontman Michael Gira 'discovered' Devendra) cover it on their album the burning world which was a sort of psych-folk revival alubm in it's own day. check it out!
this must be pretty recent... because the version of hey mama wolf and this beard is for siobhan sound like when I saw Devendra last month in Austin. sweet man.
whats the song that plays at 5:53?
