  • I'm sorry but I regreted following your advise to make C: 100G. I found that 100 got used up very quickly with all my programs I loaded on, plus all the updates for Win 7 took up's a lot of space.

I reformatted my drive and made C: 300G and 700G for D: for data. 100G is too small for C: in my opinion.

  • @CurelessScrapy Here is what is happening. If you installed the 32 bit version you will only see 3 to 3.5 Gig of ram this is the limitation of the 32 bit operating system. If you want to see more then install the 64 bit version. Hope this helps you out and thanks for the nice comments.

  • hey guys, im buying a new hardrive and windows 7 OP, i just wanted to cover the basic steps of putting the disc in and booting and so on just so i know im right, so i im guessing i boot my computer go into the bios, check to see if the option is set to boot from disc first, then put the disc into the drive and then save and exit then will that then boot from the disc ? is that right :)

  • I have Windows Vista-Home Premium By the way.

  • Can I just leave everything how it is, like I know you need to back-up files you use and stuff, but Im talking about like my games like FAllout 3, L4D, GTA IV do I have to back-those up or can I just leave them alone in the C: file? Also would I have to reinstall my Virus protection and stuff like that cause I have may too much crap to back-up.

  • Hey what does it mean when I install 7 and I rebooted, and it said this.

    Booting 'Windows Vista'

    acpi

Vista Loder 2.1.2 I DK WHAT THAT IS TELL ME

  • Also...Does sound card installs automaticly and

     Graphic card...

  • Sometimes. If not look for the drivers on line we have also found that Vista drives will work.

  • Video is very long , but i can now know how to install windows 7 carefully

  • When you're in the BIOS and change the settings to boot from the DVD drive, do you have to later go back into BIOS and switch that back once you have the OS installed?

  • We always switch ours back it makes booting to your c drive a little faster because it does not have to seek the DVD rom drive before booting. Thanks for watching and the great question.

  • mr technoman, i hae about 35 GB left on my laptop, and i know i have to partition my hard drive too. shouldnt i just partition it with just enough memory to support the windows 7 OS that im installing? cuz i noticed u partitioned like 90GB..how much memory does windows 7 need to operate?

  • hahaha you paid for windows 7? lol

  • @radicalevolutions No Microsoft invited me to the pre release and gave us a FREE copy of Ultimate. Of course you should always pay for your software.

  • Yeah I didnt have to pay either. I guess I was a candidate for a FREE upgrade from Windows Vista-Home Premium. I have an Asus G51Vx also a nice gaming laptop and all I need to do was put in the serial # and put in shipping info and it said will ship within 2-3 weeks. SO hell yeah. And do I have to back-up game files before installing Windows 7? I dont want them erased. Because I do have a gaming laptop and I need to know. thanx

  • good OS i hade it 4 days before release

  • Awesome! Windows 7 is INCREDIBLE!

  • first :P
