@Guardsmen95 The spear as mainly defensive weapon,used because it's light and easy to master, meaning training and using spearmen is an effective and cheap regiment,considering that most enemies don't have full plate armour. They had also swordmen,halberds and even some handguns in there,which arguably, are better suited to fight such enemies, but also more expensive to produce. Also the more powerful or useful the weapon the harder it is to train them.

The most worshiped god in the Empire is Sigmar, who is its founder, but he is gone for 2000 years and there have been many Emperors since.

You know those state troops might of had a chance at victory if they had been idiots and followed the warrior priest and charged into those chosen who had surrounded them! Chaos warriors have no ranged weapons except for throwing axes so with swordsman in front they probably could have killed a lot more of them before getting slaughtered hahaha silly warrior priests always getting everyone killed

@LordCHull If you play the actual tabletop game youd realise they would have no chance at all, ive played both and 10 chaos warriors slaughter 30 of the empires men, and even there the chaos outnutbered them so they had no chance at all.

Also they suck with guns, cannons are their backbone.

@mch158 Sorry I don't play Empire (actually never played an Empire army) I play Dwarves (who of course could hold their own) and Bretonnians (who peasants break at the first time of trouble with out a paladin or lady present)

@LordCHull haha you wouldnt believe how fast empire troops melt under chaos, the only counter unit they have to chaos is artillery. the troops are there to guard the tanks whilst the shooters are there to break the squads.

@MegaSpooke Maybe not though... Archaon used to be a warrior priest (I might be mistaken here) before he turned to Chaos and he singlehandedly defeated a bloodthirster to claim Kingslayer.

Archaon was quite unlike any Warrior Priest though, so I guess it makes sense.

@Hjerrick Thats true, to become the everchosen he had to beat a bloodthirster singlehanded, he was also a warrior priest until he discovered from reading ancient books that sigmar was infact just a man, then he abandoned the empire.
