thnx 4da nice video, buddy when i go to 'search' and then to 'text strings reference' all msgs there are all coded in signs, does it mean that its impossible to change the values(JMP,JNE,JE) for the codes?? i will really appreciate ur help. cheers

@MrOllydbg I've followed the instructions and found "MOV BL,AL" and changed the AL for a "1", and tried to register the product, but still I get an error message though a different one, that says "Version 1 license key are not valid for version 3, change key?" What should I do now? Do the same process for that referenced string?

I have an application call "tabledit" to make music sheet. the demo is limited to do not more than 16 measures. i don't know how to crack that since the activation is done by contacting the author. i tried to find the string of the message " cannot save more than 16 measures" but I can't find it. any help?

While I always like seeing new people attempting reversing... a couple issues.

1. While it worked with that app, you can't just jump in to other routines and change the registers and always expect them to be the same by the time the routine that actualy does the comparison is reached.

2. In applications that run multiple functions through the routine to do modification checks you will get an application crash.

3. If the application is in anyway packed or uses a string file you are SOL.
