Just out of curiosity what do you drive sir? Apparently you have no idea how hondas work. Clutch slipping? The mph wouldn't move just the rpms. So what I have for you is a Honda. a bunch of dumb idiots on the internet who tries to teach you about your own car buahaha half these dumb shits dont even know how to change their own fucking oil.
its not his shifting nor the engine. its the stock clutch that is slipping. if you dont know facts or even own a lsvtec, just sit back, stfu and watch.
You need better cams/valvetrain to take advantage of the higher compression from the P30's, you need a better header with at least a 2.5" collector, and a proper street + dyno tune.
You need better cams/valvetrain to take advantage of the higher compression from the P30's, you need a better header with at least a 2.5" collector, and a proper street + dyno tune.
Ok. So I just listened to the video. Sounds like the shifting could be a lot quicker and smoother. It's moving but someone else may be able to bang in the gears a little more precise than you. Amateur driver. But the lsv setup is beast
@lemmegetanewpt lolololol he has a stock gauge cluster. the original p75 cylinder head that was in there revs to 7.2k stock and now with the vtec head he can go up to 8.2k
i dunno what you guys are talking about and i dont know why there are so many car idiots on here but, that motor pulled nice, i havent seen very many LS's pull that hard. and unless you have a video to back up your car or how well you can shift or drive then dont say anything........i hate reading worthless comments from you guys. thanks :o)
Why don't you guys just head the fuck up already. No need to talk about who can drive or who doesn't know their shit. Settle it on the blacktop. I'm Down to run. If anyone has a dragcar or something putting out around 800whp I have a eg hatch gsr 2.1L turbo on the unit. With a dogbox transmission. Enough said we can do it for some cash. Until then keep building fellas.
I have the gsr head. 98 spec with a b16 tranny and a ls 5th gear. With a Bisimoto v2 header and je pistons, stock cams. Love it. Untuned but I'm pretty sure i make great power considering I leave evo8's out of 3rd gear. 2.0 lsv FTMFW!!
all you need is an b16 tranny.i have pretty much the same set up as you.alot of the same parts but my block is a b18B1 not a1 witha b16A1 head.and a few extra things.
I know for a fact if either one of us had a b16 trans,are cars would be a hell of alot quicker the gears would wrap out way quicker.so you should consider it cuz im broke.:/ lol
@jizzie1234 Actually the b17 ratios equal out to be very close gears to the B16 trannies. You can find b16 trannies with blown diffs or cracked cases for cheap and swap out pieces from your ls tranny
If you wan to build a reliable LSVTEC change out your piston to Type R pistons buy some ARP rod bolts ARP head bolts and a Hondata headgasket and just for safety a blockguard scince LSVTEC is a top end engine and your not resleeving the block just a low budget build I just finished ancouple of LSVTEC's myself....
because it is not meant for it, but there are ways around it, you can't just throw a vtec head on and think your motor is going to last for a long time so you need to get some other parts if you want it reliable and long term use
@IntegraDA9JDM dont listen to these people that talk shit on here you didnt do anything wrong you drive fine. but i do the exact opposite of what you do tho. i beat the holy livin shit out of my tranny and clutch because im trying to kill them before i swap them. my tranny has like 200,030 miles on it and every synchro except 5th is fried even reverse grinds all to hell and the damn transmission just wont die
@IntegraDA9JDM Hate to tell you but your car ins't unique either. You see Integras everywhere and they are very common. Nice car but it's not "All that"
@cartertaliaferro hey stupid, if i want to look at fast car i just have to write veyron. I want a lsvtech engine for my car and i want to look at some vids. This guy is maybe a student and put what i was looking for on youtube, me im a dozer operator with 3 kids. Thats 2 good reasons to invest only 800$ on engine and 300 on a head on a car that are secure in winter and fun to drive. i really dont give a fuck about your car.
@cartertaliaferro First off I don't believe you have an e36 m3. Secondly I highly doubt you ran a 13.3 stock in your imaginary car. Third, if you did happen to have one why the hell are you drag racing a m3? And lastly, you don't post videos of your slow m3 because you don't/didn't have one, never ran those times and have no videos to upload.
@IntegraDA9JDM you do know that your reaction time doesnt mean shit right? it doesnt matter if you sit there for 1 second or 5 seconds your time doesnt start until you trip the beam
@jdmmilanoreddc2, that's the purpose of arp rod bolts. An ls bottom end isn't meant to rev past about 7500 max. If you do, there's a really good chance you'll break a rod bolt causing total engine failure. With arp bolts and an obd2 gsr or type r oil pump, you can rev it to 8500+
Yeah, I just took it out on the track earlier this week for the first time actually. My best run was a 14.5 but I think with some more practice on the track I can get a flat 14
That guy is write, though. I'm glad you and your boy's LS/V lasted a year...but they're probably not going to last as long (anywhere near it) as a stock H/A motor. The plain and simple fact that the LS/V's bottom end can't hold up to that high RPM at the power it's outputting. I've seen too many LS/V's with slung rods because somebody slapped a B16A2 head on it and thought it was good for 8k.
@IntegraDA9JDM I suppose with the hardening and the rod bolts it'll definitely increase longevity. I would still argue that the overall longevity wouldn't be that of a standard H/A motor if it's always wound out to those revs. Though the LS/V's don't output a lot of power so you still have whatever buffer they gave the rods for the LS from the factory, so it'll probably hold up pretty decent. If it were my build though I'd go with aftermarket rods at some point or another, though.
@93dajjdg 2 years isn't long compared to the 19 years current D16Z6's/B18B/A's are lasting.
I'll add ellipses for sarcastic effect: ........
It's not a matter of the engine crapping itself, it's more-so that the bottom end isn't meant to spin at that high RPM, continuous doing so will prematurely wear out the internals at some point. The OP had the rods hardened, is using ARP rod bolts, while the whole thing was blue-printed/balanced on assembly. That changes the game quite a bit...
@93dajjdg If your engine was built to withstand more power and/or higher revs, then that kind of negates the point of it not holding up to high revs in stock form, no?
Saying you have an LS/VTEC and it's still running fine after 2 years doesn't really hold any water against the "you can't rev a stock LS block that high continuously and expect it to last" point if it's built.
What? all i said was ive had mine for 2 yrs and its still going... i never said or implied that a stock ls bottom end can rev high all day, thats why i mentioned having a built motor. Any motor can be reliable as long as you build it right.
@93dajjdg Yeah. I just mentioned it (originally) because it's a common misconception with newbs and the LS/VTECs that you can just slap a B16A2 head on it, and wind it out to 8k, then the people sit there and wonder why they have slung rods and call the LS/VTEC unreliable.
LS Vtecs are good only for like 1 year or so...Why?,Because the LS block is not ment to handle the high RPM's..Unless you Build it....My Point here.LS vtec Piece of Shit!
That wouldn't make sense because what if you didn't build it andjust reved to 7k or barely rev it high. It would be the same thing but just having a different head. Rod bolts are the weakest link so if you put in some arp rod bolts, it'll be good
@IntegraDA9JDM then whats the point of doin ls/v in ur opinion? you would be better off buildin the bottom end and havin a torque monster with no vtec, waste of time to do ls/v and not take it past 7k imo, gettin 1500 rpm out of vtec isnt worth the money for NOT THAT MUCH MORE TQ
It is definitely worth the money to go lsv if you do it right. My friends stock lsv has lasted him well over a year. Yeah building a torque monster is ideal but why not match it with a better flowing head you know. It doesn't cost that much more money and there are plenty of high hp, high revving lsvs.
This isn't a stock bottom end as well so keep your comments somewhere elsewhere
Actually, top of 2nd is 60 so it was around 7 seconds. 0-60 is quicker than that but I just crept in first gear. If I were to have launched first gear then we would be able to calculate what the zero to 60 was
i have almost the same setup as you except i have pr3 pistons and an ls tranny. can you tell me, did you have to remove your injector resistor box to run those injectors?
My da is a 92 so its obd1 and didn't come with a resistor box. If you get the obd1 injectors, I'm pretty sure you would just remover your resistor box but not 100 percent positive since I haven't dealt much with pre obd

we go with it because of the Longer 89Stroker that the b18b ls Gives us.
they hybrid it with a vtec head for better flows. higher compression then
stock Gsr or em1 Si motors' Also u can safely rev a ls-v to 8-9 grand

I'll add ellipses for sarcastic effect: ........
It's not a matter of the engine crapping itself, it's more-so that the bottom end isn't meant to spin at that high RPM, continuous doing so will prematurely wear out the internals at some point. The OP had the rods hardened, is using ARP rod bolts, while the whole thing was blue-printed/balanced on assembly. That changes the game quite a bit...
MrSlowestD16 9 months ago
@MrSlowestD16 My engine is built and was built by pro function in schaumburg il, great shop mikey is the man....
93dajjdg 9 months ago
@93dajjdg If your engine was built to withstand more power and/or higher revs, then that kind of negates the point of it not holding up to high revs in stock form, no?
Saying you have an LS/VTEC and it's still running fine after 2 years doesn't really hold any water against the "you can't rev a stock LS block that high continuously and expect it to last" point if it's built.
MrSlowestD16 9 months ago
@MrSlowestD16
What? all i said was ive had mine for 2 yrs and its still going... i never said or implied that a stock ls bottom end can rev high all day, thats why i mentioned having a built motor. Any motor can be reliable as long as you build it right.
93dajjdg 9 months ago
@93dajjdg Yeah. I just mentioned it (originally) because it's a common misconception with newbs and the LS/VTECs that you can just slap a B16A2 head on it, and wind it out to 8k, then the people sit there and wonder why they have slung rods and call the LS/VTEC unreliable.

LS Vtecs are good only for like 1 year or so...Why?,Because the LS block is not ment to handle the high RPM's..Unless you Build it....My Point here.LS vtec Piece of Shit!
huertab18c5 10 months ago
@huertab18c5
That wouldn't make sense because what if you didn't build it andjust reved to 7k or barely rev it high. It would be the same thing but just having a different head. Rod bolts are the weakest link so if you put in some arp rod bolts, it'll be good
IntegraDA9JDM 10 months ago
@IntegraDA9JDM then whats the point of doin ls/v in ur opinion? you would be better off buildin the bottom end and havin a torque monster with no vtec, waste of time to do ls/v and not take it past 7k imo, gettin 1500 rpm out of vtec isnt worth the money for NOT THAT MUCH MORE TQ
ncboi2009 10 months ago
@ncboi2009

@Jerz0neMUSICC

took 9 1/2 seconds to hit 60. kinda slow dont'cha think
NoToRiOuS408 10 months ago
@NoToRiOuS408
Actually, top of 2nd is 60 so it was around 7 seconds. 0-60 is quicker than that but I just crept in first gear. If I were to have launched first gear then we would be able to calculate what the zero to 60 was

nice, sounds bad, but my b18 alone, with no vtec, pulls just as hard...maybe even harder. car looks sick though
subliminalkaos87 1 year ago
@subliminalkaos87 highly doubtful your b18 pulls harder than a ls vtec...wheres your videos?
TaffetaEJ6 11 months ago
Nice, did you use the golden eagle kit or piece one together.
luvyouinmouth 1 year ago
@luvyouinmouth
I used the kit but if i were to go back, I'd piece it together since it's cheaper and I like using ls headgaskets.
IntegraDA9JDM 10 months ago
Im currently putting LS/Vtec in my DC4, B16 head on b18b1 block
coryman123 1 year ago
i have almost the same setup as you except i have pr3 pistons and an ls tranny. can you tell me, did you have to remove your injector resistor box to run those injectors?
matthewcgomez 1 year ago
@matthewcgomez
My da is a 92 so its obd1 and didn't come with a resistor box. If you get the obd1 injectors, I'm pretty sure you would just remover your resistor box but not 100 percent positive since I haven't dealt much with pre obd
