  • ...and Mathenaut, you keep telling yourself that those of us who believe in this grass roots movement are ignorant. I want you to get good and overconfident for 2012. That will make the day after the election all the sweeter when you're scrambling to find excuses why Obama was voted out. Well, you'll always have the empty, baseless race card to fall back on, I guess. It won't persuade anyone, but I'm sure you'll use it anyway.

  • @sugarcoatedbitch

Yeah...Your astroturf movement is more or less exposed for the lame gimmick it is. I'm sure it will pick back up at the turn of the next media season when more ignorant people can be scared into selling themselves out.

I'm sure you'll be crying about that race card if Obama wins again, just like the lot of you did when he won the first time. Because, surely, that's the only reason people voted for him. Not because the alternative was horrid or anything.

    What a joke.

  • I love the baseless racist and Nazi accusations coming from the mindless, thoughtless, shallow leftists. Keep proving what we say about you, folks. Your sandbox politics and childish smear tactics are wearing thin with thinking Americans. How you can have such a problem with those who call for Constitutional principles like limited government, fiscal responsibility, and a government that LISTENS to the people is beyond me. I guess your totalitarian slip is showing, statists!

  • @dmreeoogdaq

The tea party, whose elected candidates and supporting agencies levy tax breaks for the rich and programs that spike the debt, want to talk about 'fiscal responsibility'? L.O.L.

Most of you don't even know the constitution beyond the 2nd amendment.

  • @Mathenaut So, tax cuts for every taxpayer are now classified as "tax breaks for the rich", eh? This is another in a long line of Democratic lies, and I'm sorry you've chosen to believe it. If you don't like the fact that tax cuts for every taxpayer involve those who make more getting more, perhaps it's time to re-examine the progressive tax system that you lefties love so much. The whole "soak the rich" mentality is rooted in ignorance and and unAmerican class warfare mentality anyway.

  • @sugarcoatedbitch

Is that what Walker did in Wisconsin when he gave a 110+million tax credit to corporations, then told the working class they had to pay up? Is that what the GOP pressured Obama into folding to when he pushed for breaks for the lower and middle class? You can't be that blind, you're literally ignoring what they are doing.

Rich people paying taxes isn't 'oppression' or 'socialism', which I'm surprised you're arguing against as most teabaggers aren't in that top 2%

  • @Mathenaut That WI tax credit only kicks in if a business creates jobs. And Democrats give businesses tax breaks all the time too to entice business to their areas, so be sure to bash them as well.

  • @Mathenaut Exactly WHO do you think these "evil" corporations hire anyway? Your 20th century-style, Marxist class warfare mentality is defunct. Scott Walker simply introduced legislation to bring fiscal responsibility to Wisconsin state government. When the government runs skyrocketing deficits, do you honestly think they can be eliminated solely on the backs of small business men and women and these so-called "rich"? Why do you refuse to acknowledge the clear evidence of history????

  • @dmreeoogdaq

'Fiscal Responsibility' by crippling the rail system that would have saved money, crippling bio fuels that would have saved money and boosted the local economy, giving tax breaks to corporations that contribute little to the state, then crippling collective bargaining anyways after the unions conceded to his financial demands?

Let's not forget selling out utilities, no-bid.

Real savior there. Only a 'marxist' wouldn't see the obvious benefit and appeal.

    Stop watching FOX.

  • @Mathenaut "giving tax breaks to corporations that contribute little to the state"

I think that sentence of yours says everything about the defunct, disproven ideology to which you so foolishly cling. Also, your premises that a rail system and bio fuels would have "saved money and boosted the economy" are false. Don't let your adherence to an environmental myth cloud your economic logic. Economic growth results from expanding the private sector and creating private sector jobs.

  • @Mathenaut One more thing...I'll stop watching Fox when YOUR so-called "mainstream" media reports the news in a fair & balanced manner and stops carrying the banner for the Obama campaign/administration. Until then, I'll get news that's objective and think for myself (obviously a foreign concept to you statists).

  • @dmreeoogdaq

LOL really? It's the rest of the world that's crazy, eh? Touche'.

  • @Mathenaut No, not the rest of the world, just those of you on the kook left who would have us all believe that George W. Bush is Satan incarnate, Barack Obama can walk on water, we can tax and spend our way into prosperity, "the rich" (as defined by the left's political convenience this week) are all out to get us, and founding American principles have now become outdated because your statist agenda defies them.

By the way, I applaud Rep. Paul Ryan. I'm sure you think he's evil, right?

  • get over it. just tell obama to save the economy already

  • This is the Kristallnacht Party.

  • You Tea Baggers have zero credibility or legitimacy. you are just slurping propaganda stew and are feeding your right wing nazi-esque anger!

  • You needed to have asked Bush and Co those questions if you want any legitimacy!

  • @zoarmonkey well bush and co aren't in business any longer are they.

  • I have been to your rallies. I've actually been there. I've met the people, talked to them, listened to them...and they are beyond any shadow of a doubt some of the most lunatic conspiracy theorists you will ever find. All those crazy people who thought George Bush caused 9/11 now think Obama is Hitler. Same groups. Nutjobs

  • This healthcare debate is just a smokescreen. Barry doesn't give a shit about your health. He cares about your money. They have stolen social security and mismanaged it. Now they need a new pot of bucks to suck from. And if they could get Cap and Trade, they would have 2 new pots to suck from.

  • 4 months later and I believe none of these questions have been answered yet?

  • You are the deluded one, we have public health care now in America, you ever hear of public health care department for crying out loud they are in almost all towns.

  • excuse me, but thats not the kind of "public health" care Im talking about...if my public health dept. functioned the way public health care does in other countries, then the 60% of bankruptcy filings in the US, which are caused by medical debt would be a thing of the past....The health care system in the US favors the rich, while the poor are either not getting the treatment they need or mired in poverty due to huge medical bills? who is deluded?

  • Obama is all talk. America can't trust him, really.

Both he and Speaker Pelosi have stated that 5-year prison terms are "fair" for those who don't buy health insurance (see my vid).

    These elites are tyrants incognito.

  • At 4:09 you can see Donald Rumsfield sneaking by with sacks of poison swine flu vaccine....

  • Tea baggers are just another bunch of assholes stirred up by terrorists Limbaugh and Hanitty

Similar to those "swift boat" assholes....

Just ignore them, they are crazy with hate because that moron Bush is no more....

  • What people like this nice lady dont realize is that they are corporate drones.....Fox has implanted the furor over government spending and the drones respond...Small government is a nice concept, but what these people dont realize is that they are backing private corporations to do what they believe the government cannot...However, its quite a leap of faith to believe that private industry has peoples best interests at heart....these people did not complain when Bush was spending like crazy...

  • Yea, Radio, ignore them. Are there some "assholes" in the group as you so succinctly put it? You bet, just as there are lunatic fringe in every segment of society. You would have us believe this Administration before believing the NON PARTISAN CBO reports? If so, your naivete is only surpassed by your appalling use of the English language. Are disparaging remarks and personal attack the only weapons at your tiny cranium's disposal? WOW! I feel SO much better now about our country! Sheesh

  • jasc...

Do you feel that everyone is "out to get you" again?

Do you feel the world spinning around you?

Do you feel that Space Aliens are crawling under your skin?

Have you starting thinking youre the ONLY one that knows the truth?

Are the words on your computer screen trying to go through your nose and get in your brain again?

Do you think you're Nancy Pelosi and wearing her DRESSES again?

Well... I think it's time for your Schizophrenic medication!

    And....have a nice day!

  • Tex,

What the hell are talking about? I'm on your side, you knumbskull! That's the first time I have been attacked by a conservative for being conservative. You are from Texas, though, aren't you?

  • Jasc,

Then WHY did you send ME your comment and call me "radio"???

And I don't believe this administration over the CBO reports.. which is WHY I posted what the CBO said!

And I think I do quite well with the English language thank you very much!

And I've made NO "disparaging remarks or personal attacks" to you anywhere on here!

So why would I think YOU'RE on MY side with such comments????

  • $245 BILLION "DOC FIX" Legislation

    Sen. Stabenow (D-Mich)

"Dem leaders hoped to PASS THE PROPOSAL QUICKLY, so as to DISASSOCIATE it from the larger health reform proposal."

"Were doing the doc fix (formula to pay doctors treating Medicare patients) first so as not to get it confused with health care reform," Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) said.

"Were going to try to pass it as an emergency-type of spending so that it DOESNT CONNECT to the health care reform bill & FIGURE IN AS A COST OF IT."

  • I was trying to answer radioreporter01 but must have clicked on your name accidentally. THAT"S why I called you "radio". Sorry.

  • Good job...the phone line hasn't wrung yet! Silence, cold shoulder, denial? Nope. Because if he answered, he would first have to agree upon the premise. These great questions come from a factual premise that would make his position impossible to defend. It's about his image of himself.

  • Good luck getting answers! I would not hold my breath. Great questions! Obama has not done a single thing he "promised" he would. He has an agenda and doesn't give a flip what the American people want. He is more of a dictator than a president. People are waking up to see the true Obama.

  • @tudierudielovesJesus Oh, get over yourself. He's an elected president operating within the bounds of the constitution. If you think he's a dictator just because _you_ didn't vote for him, then you don't know what a dictator is. If you want to criticise Obama, please go ahead. He needs it. But spare us all your stupid rhetoric.

  • @EternityThought Both Obama's drilling moratorium and ObamaCare have been ruled unconstitutional. His administration has put U.S. citizens on assassination lists without Due Process. People in his own party want him impeached for Libya. He signed an Executive Order to keep Gitmo detainees Forever even if they are acquitted. He has continued the Patriot Act and the violation of Fourth Amendment rights.

Let me know when Obama actually starts caring about The Constitution.

  • @WesSeid

Disagreeing with teabaggers isn't unconstitutional. Let us know when the supreme court has much to say on it. Likewise, it's mostly loud whining on the right asking for any impeachment - especially with regard to Libya.

As for Gitmo? Who blocked any and all attempts to have it shut down? Protip: It wasn't Obama.

The constitution is more than the 2nd amendment. Precious few teabaggers actually know how government functions.

  • @Mathenaut haha, it's "mostly" loud whining on the right, you say. "mostly."

Who signed the recent Gitmo Executive Order?

No kidding The Constitution is more than the 2nd Amendment. Notice just a couple replies down how I mention Obama and the gang continue to violate the 4th Amendment, and his administration puts U.S. citizens on government hit lists to be murdered. (Where's Al Sharpton on that one?)

It's amazing how anyone besides corporatists defend this empty suit of a President.

  • ...maybe the President and his administration thought we weren't looking.....

  • One of Hitler's most effective ways of gaining control over the people was his government run healthcare.

  • The latest as reported by..The Budget Committee....

They have determined that the Finance Committee Bill, as introduced, will cost....

    $1.8 trillion over 10 years

The HELP Committee bill will cost...

    $2.2 trillion over 10 years!

    House bill will cost...

    $2.4 trillion over 10 years.

These estimates do not include the "savings" or TAXES to be implemented until one of these bills pass nor do they include TAXES collected by "penalties to individuals or employers" failing to buy insurance!

  • PS. I wish more of the right wing was as reasonable as you instead of these screaming douches they have on 24 hours a day. Good night.

  • BRAVO!!!

  • I looked her up and that is a terrible story. Good thing her daughter was strong enought to stand up for her! Unfortunately there are alot of stories in the US about insurance companies denying neccessary treatments as well. I still say the the people of the UK would not trade their system for ours.

  • chinacat,

thanks for looking up. you seem reasonable too, but I think you are wrong. nice to agree to disagree instead of the other video I was commenting on where people are actually using the N word. Just disgraceful if you ask me! I wouldn't ever trade our healthcare for theirs, but I know most people are trying to come from a good place. Goodnight, but sleep on this-where will innovation come from if not us? That woman would never have gone through that here.

  • Why are employers and patients paying higher premiums for less coverage? Why are physician reimbursements rates being lowered or at the very least remaining flat? The only entity getting by in health care are the insurance companies!

  • I tried to respond to this but don't have the energy to answer fully again. Look up Hazel Fenton in the UK and Barbara Wagner in Oregon if you want to see what govt control of healthcare is going to yield you. Do you have someone who is getting older that you love and would never want anyone treating like a number?

  • I have lived in the UK and Japan and both have universal health care and it works very well. People in those countries find our health care system barbaric. And again, we pay more for our health care than they do and get worse outcomes and still leave a large group uninsured. It is not free health care. You pay for it. The difference is that everyone is covered and no one is excluded. And don't you think the insurance companies treat you like a number. lol.

  • Funny though they get all their drugs and innovations off the backs of the "evil" American medical and drug industry. I bet they enjoy those. Did you look her up in the UK?

  • Good talking to you. You seem like a reasonable person but I think you are wrong. I have to go to bed now. LOL.

  • Comment removed

  • rwwalters,

EXACTLY MY POINT! RIGHT ON FOR AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM! LET'S DO BETTER INSTEAD OF WORSE!

  • Rapidly rising health insurance premiums are the main reason cited by all small firms for not offering coverage. Health insurance premiums are rising at extraordinary rates. The average annual increase in inflation has been 2.5 percent while health insurance premiums for small firms have escalated an average of 12 percent annually.

  • chinacat,

there are most certainly reasonable ways to tackle these issues without a govt take over. my ex who didn't have insurance was quoted 150 bucks a month in NH and when he found out he lived in MA he told him it would be 500. A bit of a discrepency wouldn't you say? Really drives home the argument of portablility doesn't it?

  • No, portability is a scam. What will happen is the insurance companies will find a state with minimal regulation and oversight and all of the insurance companies will base themselves in that state, where the laws are one sided in favor of the insurance corporations. Remeber that insurance companies are corportations with only one mandate. To make a profit. They will also use their resources to influence the legislature. Portability would be a disaster for the consumer.

  • ugh god, again you are just really annoying with your stupid retorts. I lived in MA where they are now dropping LEGAL IMMIGRANTS from the rolls and I now live in and am employed by NH and my coverage which is much cheaper for me HAS GONE UNCHANGED. GET WITH THE DAMN PROGRAM! I am still waiting for that evidence on these health insurance cos taking TARP funds. Don't you think that if they did and they were paying big CEO bonuses that the bama would go after them?

  • If you are employed by NH then you are getting your health care paid for by the government. Perhaps we should all become government employees to get healthcare.

  • not employed by NH, but in NH where we have no state income tax and at last check our unemployment rate was 6.8. Not too shabby for a state with low standards for health insurance right?

  • The large majority of the uninsured (85 percent) are native or naturalized citizens.

  • If you would like the exact breakdown on your 47 mill I can get it from you (FROM THE CENSUS BUREAU) but it will take a few minutes. Please don't start with this nonsense as I will win on this and have actual numbers and facts. Suffice it to say we have 10-12 million legitimately uninsured. If you dispute I will be happy to give you the real breakdown or you could finally be a good little lib and look up the facts for yourself. PS aren't you going to say the illegals should be covered?

  • Good, send the exact breakdown. But 10-12 million is still too many. As far as the illegals go. That is a whole nother can of worms.

  • Nearly 90 million people about one-third of the population below the age of 65 spent a portion of either 2007 or 2008 without health coverage

  • I believe that as they were probably transitioning between jobs, etc. Are you really this dumb? Is this a real argument?

  • It is absolutely relevant. Are you saying that people don't get sick or need medical care between jobs. You are ridiculous!

  • Questions for Insurance companies?

What did you do with the bailout money?

Why are so many Americans uninsured?

Why did your premiums double in eight years?

Why do you deny care to people while making record profits?

How much are you paying in bribes to Repubicans?

Why do you not cover preexisting conditions?

Why do you have a policy of denying claims the first time they are submitted?

Why do Americans pay more for healthcare yet get worse care?

Why did Ratis's company deny his care?

  • What did you do with the bailout money?

That was AIG, the worlds largest insurance comany in the world.

Why are so many Americans uninsured?

Most would rather spend their money on what they want and not what the need.

Why did your premiums double in eight years? As everything in the world double in eight years.

Why do you deny care to people while making record profits?

GetGM to start giving out cars and the insurance companies will satrt giving free coverage.

  • Thanks, you made my case with your stupid answers. LOL. One more question.

Why are the Insurance companies not covered under anti-trust laws?

  • chinacat,

have you seen the bama's advisor Robert Reich talking about what sort of benifits we can expect from Obamacare? I think it's pretty telling about the ideas of these morons (including the head dunce your president) when it comes to healthcare. You may want to look it up.

  • Why do you love the insurance companies so much. You talk like you are paid by them. These companies will bankrupt this country and laugh all the way to the bank.

  • ugh god, typical moonbat response. It isn't that I love the insurance companies, nor do I hate them like you fools. I tell you what, my insurance company gives service that is a hell of a lot better than the RMV does. Do you know that the insurance companies made 3% profit last year? What is wrong with that? No one can make a profit anymore. Did you know that I also have recourse with my insurance company, but DO NOT WITH THE FEDERAL GOVT? What makes you confident in our wasteful govt?

  • Why have premiums doubled in the last eight years? Why do we spend more on health care than any other country and yet get worse results? Why does every other industrialized nation have Universal Health Care? What are the hard figures on insurance company profits and CEO pay? Most people I know are not happy with their insurance companies? Most people have had very bad experiences with their insurance companies! That is why we need a Public Option

  • Price Waterhouse just came out with a study detailing how much your insurance costs will go up with govt run health insurance and I assure you it's much more than with private run companies who DO ACTUALLY COMPETE with each other. How is it your business what they pay their CEOs anyway? The dummies you know may not be happy, but polls say 85% of us are. And what about your evidence on the TARP funds? I believe you are incorrect on this.

  • chinacat,

Also, I have to add that I am pretty well informed and don't remember the health insurance companies taking TARP funds. Do you have some evidence of this? Maybe I missed it, but I don't think you are correct.

  • I think you work for the insurance companies.

  • another typical moonbat response. I do not work for the insurance companies now nor have I ever. I like my health insurance and would like to keep it. I most certainly do not want it under the control of the likes of Zeke Emanual and the bama. You just aren't very well informed are you?

  • Great job of answering the questions. LOL. Guess you don't have a case. Am glad you are happy with your health insurance. The 50 million Americans without health insurance and those who are underinsured are not happy with theirs.

  • I believe I addressed every one of your dumb questions, but you didn't address mine. I was taking one post at a time. Do you know that we REALLY only have 10-12 mill without insurance in this country and if you are too dumb to know where this overinflated number that these liars use comes from I will be happy to break it down for your feeble mind. Just ask!

  • According to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly 47 million Americans, or 20 percent of the population under the age of 65, were without health insurance in 2008. In my county in North Carolina we have 20% of the population uninsured. This doesn't even count those who are greatly underinsured. Approx. 60% of the bankruptcies in this country are directly related to health expensed. And

CEOs should not be making obscene salaries while institutionalizing denial of care to their policyholders.

  • 47 mill (not 50 like you rounded up to in, again, typical moonbat form) includes illegal immigrants, people who are uninsured for 4 months or less that year and people who make over 70K and choose not to buy insurance (as is their right). Again, where is your evidence of the health insurance industry taking TARP funds and what business is it of yours what a private company pays their employees? If you don't like it, don't buy it. Anything to say about 85% of us wanting to keep our insurance?

  • Yes! If you like your insurance you are free to keep it.

  • Well really now if it's cheaper (which it is most definitely projected to be) for my employer to pay a fine and put me on the govt rolls, what will my employer logically choose? That is if they don't lay me off because they are paying for all this nonsense. Why don't you get informed? Where is that evidence of the health insurance companies getting TARP funds?

  • I heard enough of the spin on what this woman refers to as "the bill", while all the while taking one part of one bill (there are three) and then projecting her assumption on "what if's" instead of sticking to the language of the bill.

  • Boomer,

Actually there's 5 bills being tossed around in the House and the Senate. But the questions still remain valid ones!

But you seem to fear questions being asked about these bills?

And do YOU support FORCING Americans against their will to buy insurance or pay in higher taxes?

Do YOU agree with the Democrats to NOT let.... We The People READ any of these bills prior to passage?

And do YOU agree with the Dems to start a National Sales Tax to pay for these entitlement programs?

  • "the bill", HR3200 and all the B/S the Dem's are as of today, behind closed doors are adding moer to it. Crap that didn't go through the budget committee. Take the price of Obamacare well over a trillion.

"the bill" that will be thrown out on the floor and be told to vote on without reading.

    That bill.

  • Barack needs to veto any bill which doesnt have THE PUBLIC OPTION!

  • If only the state media would address the issue in this responsible a fashion WTG.

  • all you tea party fagots need just shut up. you all talk out of your ass and are fucking ignorant

  • Check your language--don't you know any better adjectives than to use vulgarity. And, if I remember right a fagot is a homosexual, and although there are homosexuals in the tea party, they are in the minority.

  • onlyization sounds like a person who's living off the government, and feels threatened that his food stamps are going to get cut off when the republicans take over in a year.He also sounds like a pillow biting cross dresser trying to come out of the closet .lol Good luck to ya in both areas.

  • This is just another example that Obama is a puppet. Face it folks, the Democratic Party and the GOP are wings of the same bird. Right now I feel like bird seed. Well, actually, we all are unless we sprout into trees and beat the bird with our branches until it flies away. For Obama, it is OK to ignore all of the legislation that has chipped away at our Constitution in the pretense of making us more secure. The Peace Prize days before he escalates military action in Afghanistan.

  • When are the American people goin' to wake up and stop working as mouth pieces for big business? I can tell you thet these companies and politicians do not have you at heart! Their friend is "Mr. Bottom Line". The bill that passed yesterday is pro insurance. Mr. Baucus was given 1.5 million by the insurance Co's. A pulic option is what will allow the average Joe to compete. The federal workers should also go with what the people are given. They keep their current cady plan in the present bill.

  • Tea Party and 9/12, What part of Glenn becks Stupid agenda does this Misdirected Fake blonde bitch Don't you see. Does she argue for The bankrupted Families denied Health care from Insurance Companies. This lady and Glenn Beck are Fascists... Working for Health insurance Companies and calling this "Capitalism" which is death to the American people. This is why Change was voted in on the last election.

  • The only "Change" we received is bankruptcy of our country, devalue of dollar, and millions of people out of work with no help from this fake stimulus. Maybe, this sounds good to you but not to me. No one is denied care in any hospital. I have been one of those without insurance coverage so don't preach to me about something you know nothing about.

  • linda--

    Huh? What?

You're actuallyl saying this woman DOESN'T have a connection to the Insurance Companies?

    What?

  • Can't you read DillonX she's a member of the tea party. And, if that makes you working for insurance company's .Haven't you seen the millions of people at tea party's across America that are fed up with our government Democrats as well as Republicans that are in power and want to change things. Does this make you an employee of an insurance company?

  • Wow, talk about failing hard.

Sweetie, it just passed the SFC with a REPUBLICAN vote.

And now we will crush the Insurance companies you shill for by removing their antitrust exemption.

  • would have been a little better if it wasn't obvious that she was reading from a script.

  • Hey Merrimac291 isn't this what Obama does read from a telepromter?

  • I don't get it---this woman is from the national tea party organization not an insurance company. I'm a part of the tea party in Texas-and certainly don't have anything to do with insurance company's.

The only thing I am concerned about is America, which I love.

  • yeah, duh

  • Those aren't questions, they're accusations. Obama didn't say he was going to answer accusations, helium voiced lady.

  • How dare you question the greatest man who was ever President in fact the greatest man to ever walk the face of the earth?

  • MondoMedia7 is the biggest obama worshipper yet.

  • or maybe using spoof to point out the extremism in such worship !

    (wink)

  • Obama should faced a General Court-martial with charges brough by Generals Petreus and McChrystal for DERELICTION OF DUTY.

  • what about when bush went awol for snorting cocaine back in 1972? or when he got word of a coming attack on august 6, 2001 and just cut brush on his ranch instead of preventing the worst terrorist attack on american soil? what about when we were lied into the iraq war? what about when bush authorized the systematic torture of human beings under the american flag? oh right, those dont count.

  • CBO

    Public Option...

Would add a small amount of competitive pressure in many insurance markets that are currently served by a limited number of private insurers!

The higher costs of those less healthy enrollees in the public plan would be offset partially but not entirely.

The rest of the added costs would be reflected in the public plans premiums. Correspondingly, the costs & premiums of competing private plans would, on average, be slightly lower than if no public plan was available!

  • amazing the republicans acting like they are relevant and have any future except to be the most hated group of people in american history. f u republican pigs!

btw what grade did you finish?

  • well spoken, thank you!

  • Wall Street Journal

Nancy Pelosi admits that Democrats may have to **impose** a HUGE NEW TAX (VAT or NATIONAL SALES TAX) to fund their spending ambitions!

With a $9 trillion 10-year budget deficit, $4 trillion in spending in 2010 alone, & a $1 trillion (minimum) health-care entitlement, Pelosi & Dems are suggesting ADDING a Value Added Tax on TOP of existing TAXES that applies to every level of production or service, & is largely **hidden** from those who ultimately pay it...namely, CONSUMERS!

  • how dare you astroturf terrorists ask Obama questions about his healthcare goals.

  • Without a Strong Public Option, Reform is just a joke.

We all know this and will remove any Congressman who opposes it as we are now the majority.

We will get a Public option as we have the power.

Over 61% are for it and no politician in his right mind can't see this.

  • OK 1911arthur I have to ask, do you know what "public option" is?

  • 1911, Not even close! 50% oppose the plan! 44% favor the plan! ONLY 26% say the if the plan passes... the *quality of care* will get better 51% say the quality of care will get WORSE! 20% say the costs will go down 51% say the cost will go *UP*! 55% OPPOSE penalties for NOT buying insurance! 67% OPPOSE a National Sales Tax to support paying for health care reform! 72% EXPECT Tax Hikes on those that make LESS than $250K!
  • I have a question for the supporters of the status quo in US healthcare:

If the US system is so excellent, then why haven't all of the other free and wealthy countries of the world either already emulated it, or at least tried to do so?

  • Comment removed

  • Fre,

Actually... Canada at the moment is working on repealing their current health care system! And these countries... do so enjoy the socialism and control over the people's money!

Power & control requires money and the dependence therein!

  • bigtex501, do you care to describe just exactly how Canada is "repealing" its healthcare system?

And, if any such effort were underway, it would be at the urging of Stephen Harper, former president George W. Bush's second favorite personal cock sucker.

Any (even hypothetical) efforts to do such would have little public support.

  • If you look hard enough you'll come to find everyone of them have had to reform the reforms of their healthcare system over and over.

    WHY? Because it don't work.

  • Wow! Thumbs down for asking a question. This is the level of public discourse today. So sad.

  • Can someone tell me if this witch works for an Insurance Company or which relative in her family does?

  • her name is Lorie Medina.

She is a republican mom worried about Obama turning the nation to a socialist country. that's willing to stand up for you country, rather than see people like Obama and DillonX destory it.

google is you friend, use it and stop being a lazy fat ass and look youself from now on.

  • News flash: Health Reform and Public Option will pass as insurance companies are ripping off consumers with CEO pay averaging 11.5 million a year while people are being denied care that are insured.

The majority see's private insurance as a giant scam and believe CEO's should be prosecuted under RICO for running a racket.

A stong Public option equals checkmate for them and they are scrambling with lies.

  • 1911,

News flash: The current plans in place being discussed will be much like Medicare who....

denies MORE claims than any private insurance firm at 6.9% denial of all claims!

And you want this for ALL America?

  • 1911,

And.. you would be fine with forcing people against their will to buy insurance even if they can't afford it?

And... the "majority" are STILL happy with their current coverage!

50% of the people polls OPPOSE a government run health care plan while...

    44% support it.

And you think CEO's are bad?

Latest polls on politicians or Congress is at...

21% APPROVE of the way Congress is handling their job!

The CEO's are favored MORE by the people than the members of Congress.

    NOT GOOD!

  • I don't understand the comments regarding interstate competition. Obama's plan creates a healthcare exchange in which plans from across the country will be able to compete against each other under a common set of rules. Why does this not represent the competition that you desire?

  • forced health care that is obamas plan

  • There may be mandates to purchase a plan, yes.. but.. You won't be required to buy a particular plan...There will be interstate competition on the exchange and people will have a choice of plans!.. Isn't this the sort of interstate competition that conservatives favor?

  • Almost ... we favor simply allowing the insurance companies to come into the states and sell their products (thus increasing competition). Let small businesses pool together on their own (creating higher bargaining power) and negotiating the best deal they can. More Ins providers in the States where there are currently few. Much like shopping for home or auto insurance.

    Why won't this work?

No seed money, interstate competition, more plan choices, and no government seeded exchange.

  • Whose law apply? That laws of the state the are located in or the state in which the person resides? If the second, how will this not become a chaotic mess as each company would have to have a separate set of plans for each state. If the former, what is to stop them from finding the health insurance equivalent of the credit card companies' Delaware and locating there invalidating all the protections states put in place for their citizens. A clear set of national laws and regulations seems best.

  • Agreed ... but once law and regulations are established for consumer protection (I am in favor of this) then what would be the need to set up the exchange?

I am in favor of the new credit card regulations put in practice by President Obama. This helped to curb predatory practices.

Why can't we do the same for the Insurance industry.

  • puppiesrule709, I'd rather be dead than have Obama's 'forced health care plan'.

I know you are only fifteen years old, having seen your channel. Please go away and let the adults talk.

  • Final numbers for this exchange are not yet in. However, under the current format the government would provide an undetermined amount of "seed" money for this exchange. We also don't know what the requirements for participation in the exchange would be.

The argument is simple really. Open up the state markets (no seed money) and allow insurance providers to freely come into the markets (States). Just like the auto example of the President ... Ever heard of the Auto Ins exchange? Nope

  • Couldn't the exchange with a mix of public and private options be a reasonable compromise between those who would prefer a single payer system and those who prefer the status quo? The exchange regulations would help protect people from the current problems of unpaid claims, rescission, and general lack of accountability of insurance companies. Those who feel competition is essential have that and those who feel a public option is essential have that... Compromise!

  • Perhaps, but wouldn't it make sense to try what doesn't cost the taxpayer (me and you) first? The regulations you speak of can be implemented without an exchange. We have regulations across many industries and they are tweaked by congress all the time. Why not do this in steps. For example I am all in favor of saving the wasted dollars the President speaks of.

Break down states barriers (costs nothing). Increase accountability (costs nothing). Dont just jump off into the deep end.

  • We need a real solution, not a continued patchwork mess. The plan is to spend a few years developing the exchange anyhow, it won't be available overnight! (Though the plan is to have a temporary government plan for people in urgent need due to a preexisting condition). Spending on healthcare is stimulus anyhow... I'm not saying we should waste money but now is not the time to be limiting government spending.

  • scott,

Yes, true.. the Baucus plan intends to begin raising taxes and implement other programs to "front load" the program to make it seem like there's a cost savings.... but from 2010 to 2017 when the plan is in full swing, the 7 years of added taxation will be used to fund it. Along with the Billions used by the cuts in the Medicare system.

However it still, according to the CBO leaves 25 million w/o coverage by 2019.

  • I wouldn't take the Baucus plan particularly seriously.. The finance committee is more conservative than the rest of the senate, I would expect a better bill out of the full senate and an even better bill out of the conference committee.

  • scott

True, but most agree all of this is simply leading to single payer or public option.

Either way... the CBO agrees that all the bills will force people to buy insurance or be taxed for not buying "approved" insurance by the gov standards.

And the Baucus plan is a small picture to what will be forced upon America and with the deal obama has in place with the pharmaceutical lobbyists, the drug prices will still be a high cost.

An unknown is if ANY of the plans cross the state's borders.

  • I'm not so convinced the mandates are a terrible thing. I'm sympathetic to arguments that people shouldn't be forced to buy something, however it is hard to envision how they could deal with pre-existing conditions without a mandate. If everyone HAS to be on a plan that means that the plans have to be reasonably affordable and of reasonable quality. This means the Democrats are really taking responsibility for this problem! What they create MUST work if they want to continue winning elections.

  • Hence the true problem of the expected costs to skyrocket for all. Under the mandate to cover pre-existing conditions, payment for the losses will be required unless you think the insurance firms will simply take the loss and think nothing of it. It's a rational thing to consider if a company is hit with higher costs.... they will not continue on their current path without bankruptcy in their future. But that may be the intention! Then there would be more bailouts & control over more firms!

  • scott,

Then the Baucus plan by estimates STILL raises the premiums and forces people to buy insurance or pay in an additional $800.00 to $1000.00 in taxes if they don't buy "acceptable" health insurance mandated by the government.

And, it's an unknown how much pork barrel spending is involved much like the "stimulus" bill that was passed earlier this year. Since there is really NO true written version of what the Senate just passed, there's NO transparency to see what's hidden in the bill.

  • "Pork" used to mean spending not in the general interest aimed at a particular congresspersons district in order to aid in winning elections. Now people seem to be using it to mean any government spending. Why was the best example of supposed "pork" that Jindel could come up with in his speech volcano monitoring? Quite amusing shortly thereafter when FOX News expressed happiness that scientists were monitoring Mount Redoubt!

  • Scott,

"Pork" meaning the same government waste that the "stimulus" bill set forth! You'd think with all the pork spending these politicians have done to this point, it would be enough.... but the joy never seems to end, does it? LOL

And I'm sure you know about Murtha's millions for studies on "pig smell" or the millions spent on airports that few ever use! Or bridges in Florida that even the Native Indians don't want.

And the spending goes on with no end in sight!

  • Government spending does not automatically equal pork. The stimulus bill contained a lot of good things! Money for scientific and medical research, money for loans to keep small businesses alive, money to rebuild decaying parts of our infrastructure, money for efficient high speed trains... These are real things that add lasting value to our society and our country! The fact that government paid for them does not invalidate their value...

  • scott,

do you even know how much of the stimulus bill they've used to this point?

  • From the web page, looks like about 1/4? Entering my zip code I see loans to small businesses in the area... Grants for medical and scientific research at the university. .. I also know people who are benefiting from the COBRA partial payment which was also part of the stimulus.

  • scott,

current numbers I have is only $150 Billion estimated. And the loans under the banking industries have still been slow at best. So far this year, most banks have raised the bar on requirements to get loans for the common person! So, if someone has what once was a good credit score, is now finding out that they're payments will be far higher due to increased requirements by the Feds and Fannie & Freddie.

  • and did you know that ONLY $16.5 billion was spent in areas like infrastructure, technology and research?

But the money spent still does nothing for businesses and industry to recoup the job losses that are currently at 16.8% TOTAL unemployment which should not be confused with the 9.8% unemployment "claims"!

Using the number 330 million in the U.S., that would mean there's 55.44 Million people without jobs...

And the numbers are still expected to increase before this gets better!

  • They didn't spend enough... They should do another stimulus targeted especially at the energy sector. Time to think big! Wind mills, solar panels, the next generation of nuclear power, a digital smart grid, new energy storage, electric cars, trains heavy and light, fast and slow...Ramp up the youth volunteer services..send a civilian force to help compliment the military force in Afghanistan and later around the world to share our new technology and help to best utilize the world's resources....

  • scott,

You would support another "stimulus" package even though they've not even used the current money from the stimulus earlier this year?

And the items you mention are fine and dandy if the U.S. was doing well, but we're not.

The current public debt is at 11.9 TRILLION and rising rather fast and you would have the U.S. spend more and more money that it doesn't have?

And you're still forgetting the 55.44 Million without jobs & very few of the things you mention will do anything for them!

  • The things I mention require workers at various skill levels, administrators, engineers and scientists... Employing these people would also have the effect of helping others who provide services to such people.

I think we have no choice but to spend the money! Such a transformation will create lasting income streams that can be used to pay the debt later. Think of it as an investment in America! Such a transformation is critical to our future.

  • scott,

I think that letting businesses keep more of their money to invest in the hiring of people that need work is a far better system than the temporary "stimulus" the plan has in place. And the plan is very focused on those with various skills in place.. but keep in mind, a majority of those unemployed do not have such skills and depend on business all over the country and in every town, big & small!

Like the Cash for Clunkers program... it was a temporary fix and a short term solution!

  • We've been cutting taxes and reducing programs for 4 decades now! Meanwhile the deficit gets bigger and the infrastructure falls farther into disrepair. Cutting taxes is the temporary solution! It doesn't change the fact that we don't produce anything anymore and are dependent on middle eastern oil for our transportation needs! We can't continue like this!

Yes, it will mean some peoples lives will be disrupted and some will have to train for something entirely new. That doesn't make it wrong.

  • Obama is dreaming.

Peter Schiff and Gerald Celente are absolutely on the mark.

Ask...what's behind the dollar? Answer: Nothing it's just green toilet paper.

Citizens are? trying to audit the Federal Reserve here because they seem to be printing currency like water with no approval/oversight from Government and just pumping them out.

Pretty soon it's going to be like Zimbabwe money, completely worthless.

Smart Americans are changing out fiat currency for gold and silver

  • Currently we aren't seeing inflation.. The danger is deflatio
