@tcurrsdmaster If it was dropped in the 1800's and was not disturbed than it may still have the flow marks from the coin stamp. Rubbing out those flow marks can cost you 100,000$. That is why he only was touching the edges. Depending on the year and condition he may have a quarter of a million dollar coin.... you only touch the edges on them...

Nice coin! I never have had that type luck wow! your 5 dollar coin is at least $350 and the 10 dollar is at least $615, Prices depending on the mint and year are actually higher on the 5 dollar coin if you have a 1878CC it would be worth $19,500 ! The 10's highest price of $10,750 if it is a 1879 O! Now you need to play match the lottery numbers of mint and year :P GL!
