We have a tank here in the town I live in where you can pet sharks. You have to put your hand in after they pass and not before or they freak out. Have you tried that? I feel the same about sharks except in the tank.

OMG!! I have the same phobia about sharks! I think it stems from when I saw Jaws as a kid too. I remember going to the river with my stepdad when I was little and being on a wave runner with him and getting scared everytime he made a sharp turn and we got too close to the water. He kept getting mad and MADE ME JUMP IN the water to prove that there were no sharks. I was terrified. And still am today. Rivers, the ocean... etc. It doesn't matter. Gives me the chills just thinking about it!
