  • Great to have this band on tap in this mix. Must buy all the albums they made.

  • chupala dream, aguante moore

  • @gudjonsveins while it was definitely a supergroup in the beginning, OSI is Kevin and Jim. They are the soul and write the core music... and the sound is largely Kevin's influence. He is amazing.

  • I have this album in my cd collection, is GREAT! Thanx for vid, add to my playlist :)

  • @heavendreamful You're welcome ;-)

  • f'ing love it

  • serious 'ending credits to a move' song.... brilliant dark shit.!

  • Pure awesomeness !!! Respect to them

  • Very original and very unique OSI is very diffrent like Porcupine Tree, and Tool. Very diffrent and they keep to their styles and don't change...also very inspiring for art...

  • nice song, standard good by OSI

  • Damn the fusion of that voice and the music, its just so mysterious.Glad i found this band.

  • this is a pretty decent song, love the drum work etc., just the guitar is boring and derivative, just plain bad.

  • Ottawa rocks to OSI

  • I like ''old'' OSI better. Is it Portnoy, bassists or songs?

  • @yawdvgt definitely not Portnoy. IMO Gavin does an amazing job on this album.

  • I love this mix of electronic and progressive. Chemical compound was obviously influenced by these guys.

  • epic.

  • I read that this song is based on Donald Crowhurst's death... Very interesting and intelligent. The tune itself catches the chaos that might've went on in Crowhurst

  • wow this is very different. im definately checking these guys out. i love finding new good bands, like that other person said.

  • 162 likes and 0 dislikes says it all.

    LOVE OSI!

  • @usmcsdi69 and then 1 person disliked it :(

  • @RIdrummer96 You must be a commie you POS!

  • CHECK OUT STAR ARK FOR SOME OSI INFLUENCED PROG. YOU'LL FIND CLIPS HERE AND THE ENTIRE CATALOGUE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD AT BANDCAMP

  • i heard there is a rumor going around that kevin moore will never be open again

  • @dehdehderzz Yeah, he has no more dreams to defend.

  • saw?O_O se parece xD

  • @julikem Well let's just excuse you as well for having a different opinion genius. Just because it's a concept album and has a theme doesn't mean its good from beginning to end. Get over it, even these artists such as Moore will criticize even they're own material. We're all human dude.

  • Fucking best song ever?

  • f***kin amazing OSI ! ! ! the best innovation band in my opinion.

    UN SALUDO ! ! !

  • This song was written about Donald Crowhurst, by the way.

  • fuck this is great

i never heard this band before

    fucking great man!

  • This is really cool, too bad Portnoy didn't enjoy the experience. Hope they continue without Portnoy if its necessary.

  • @darfunkelidas The last album already was without Portnoy.

  • There will be a new OSI album whoho!

  • que som.....

  • On this album the drummer is Gavin Harrison of porcupine tree

  • ive been looking for another song like Free where these guys really let loose and show their true potential... elements of this album mirror and even improve on their past work.

    GREAT JOB

  • just bought this album! LOVE IT!!!!

  • Reminds me of Porcupine tree, and Tool :) . First time hearing them

  • Guys, good news:

OSI is currently working on their fourth album and Metal Blade debut for a late 2010 release.

    see you,

  • These

    guys

    are

    AWESOME

  • Great sound, Great band and I found them by accident!!!

  • This sounds like a cross between ( new) Fates Warning and Green Carnation . I like !

  • This is my favorite track on Blood. For those of you new to O.S.I...you gotta check out both of their previous releases. You won't be disappointed!

  • If you like Kevin Moore, feel free to visit my fan website: The Mooreatorium. Search for it on Google.

  • what a super song to hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • people need to check out Porcupine Tree; I think the drummer for PT is in this album. (Gavin Harrison) He's soooooo GREAT!

  • @Ghostwolf190 Gavin Harrison is the drummer for OSI, yes. He's the guy I discovered OSI through- his connection to Porcupine Tree. Steven Wilson is awesome. Most of what he touches I love. Check out Orphaned Land and Blackfield, some of Steven's projects with Israeli Artists. Of course, there's also the super awesome Opeth that Steven Wilson has been working with recently. Just beautiful.

  • @Surasanji Ditto. I love all the stuff you just mentioned.

  • @Surasanji wasn't Portnoy originally the drummer for OSI?

  • @HumanLarva Yes, he was. But I guess he was not the appropiate drummer for the band. I've read that he got tired about Kevin cutting his fireworks. OSI has a musical approach that crashes with Portnoy's show-off tendencies.

  • well i have to be honest, i was just surfn the tube and saw this and fell in love with the music, i didnt even know it was DT related or whatever, im just amazed its not all that tecnical and progresive ...sounds awsome !

  • never headrd of these guys...it feels great when you discover an awesome band like this!

  • @21Fixxxer Supergroup project featuring Jim Matheos of Fates Warning, Kevin Moore of Chroma Key and Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.

  • @21Fixxxer

Had the first album but had never heard the others. Although I consider the first to be pretty much flawless, the others are not quite that solid but nevertheless great.

  • @21Fixxxer True

  • Comment removed

  • @21Fixxxer Never heard of thesee guys? if you ckeck the members, it is a supergroup, with lineup changes, it has included 2 Fates Warning members, Kevin Moore of Dream Theatert and more, 2 Porcupine Tree members, Cynic bassist and Opeth frontman, Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, so it is a pretty awesome supergroup!

  • @gudjonsveins yeah I know that now.I listen to all of these bands but when i first checked this song out I didnt know that.

  • @21Fixxxer hehe ok :)

  • Actually, Fates Warning is the backbone, since OSI is Jim Matheos's project.

  • I'm not getting into a technical discussion on what a backbone is, but if the drums vocals and keys are coming from current or old DT members, thats the reason the majority of listeners seek OSI in my opinion. So you like FW, thats cool, but i'm getting tired of people putting down DT because of taste. Credit is due where credit is due, JIm of FW deserves much of it. Seriously, hate on shitty musicians please (lady gaga ex.) not directed at you benmech, but to all you DT hating prog-metal heads

  • I love about people talk about the 'genius' of Kevin Moore...Meanwhile this band was formed and put together by Jim Matteos (The guitarist of Fates Warning). This was his project :-p

  • Doesn't change the fact that Kevin Moore is awesome.

  • Rofl. I get a negative hit. I said nothing negative :-p I like OSI, I just like to give credit where credit is due. And for the record - Jim Matteos is incredible as well.

  • They are both excellent...what makes it even better is that they have a fantastic chemistry.

  • wow!...

  • I love this album.. I love also Akerfèldt in Stockholm..

  • Last album?! i sure don't hope so

  • Best song out of Blood, following it are Stockholm and the tittle track.

  • excellent song this band is very good like Amplifier.

  • such a great band!!

  • topshelf. but what else can one expect from Moore...awesome work.

  • Epic...

  • The best song on album!!

  • It's difficult to choose... but yes, one of the best!

  • How had I never heard of these guys before? This is incredible!

  • I waited for a long time this track!!

  • GREAT song.

  • it reminds me in few moments soundtrack from Saw. Great album.

  • This guys keep reinventing themselfs! Very good album! They only need more attention from the media!

  • @Estefano80 No, they need a proper album. All the three OSI albums has both awesome and mediocre moments, they need to get rid of the last ones. Then, they can have more attention.

  • @KutViZ:

Truth. This is the best tune I've heard in years. But the album overall does not compare with the classics in prog metal, let alone the best albums outside the niche. I'll take their best ten songs against anyone's. But they have had difficulty putting together an album that can stand up against, say, Images and Words.

  • @MartinAlvito

I agree. Although there are a few tracks (The Escape Artist, Radiologue, Blood) that can stand up against anything OSi have released, the album just doesn't have the complete flow that I would like. However, the high points, when they come, are quite wonderful.

  • @kingofnormania I'd add False Start to that list - but otherwise you've got it nailed. To me, Free is as strong from top to bottom as any of their releases (though I'm sure many will disagree with a passion). But even that disc suffers from weak tracks that break up the flow. Let's hope that they finally put it together on the next release and create an album that crushes it out of the park on every track. The general trend is promising; Blood's weak points were not as weak as those of Free.

  • @MartinAlvito Excuse me but I have to tell you, there are no weak tracks anywhere, an album is a conception of ideas that flow from one to the other and depict a total circle. If you can't grasp that than stay away from true concept albums, and dive into bieberville, the point is, even Pink Floyd the wall could be picked apart song by song but wtf? You have to get in to get out

  • @Estefano80 Or not. =)

  • @Estefano80 sie sind ja leider keine feste band, sondern nur ein prokjekt mit musikern aus verschiedenen bands. z.b. gavin harrison oder mike portnoy (in den älteren alben)

  • insaneeeeeeee

  • I have a question.

I just can' understand a part of the lyrics. And I checked out the internet but I read different versions :D:D

So please help me. the part is the following:

    I was dreaming

    i was headin' west

    thirty days faster

    had a fever

    woke up in a sweat

    ????????????????

  • "bailing out the water"

    ;)

  • Masterpiece!!!However it`s not music for everyone. All hail Kevin and Jim!

  • Gavin > Mike

    Kevin > both of them

Jim > every other person on the planet

the combination of Jim's songwriting style and skills with Kevin's is likely the greatest innovation in the history of mankind.

  • Best song on the album.

  • This is a fantastic song.

The entire cd is great. I epescially like False Start and Microburst Alert!

  • can't go on, can't go back, can't stop this song!

  • amazing song, my favourite since I bought the album, "can't go on, can't go back"

KM knows how to write lyrics, so he does!

  • I really love this song. Great track!

  • I personally think Mike Portnoy's style suits the band better than Harrison's. Even though I'm more a Gavin Harrison fan myself. Im more impressed with Portnoys OSI playing over any of his other projects. What do you guys think??

  • Portnoy rocks better, but he doesn't want to make this album. When they recorded Free, he said he was like a session musician, because he didn't participate in the composition.

  • Portnoy have better taste of music. that's the only matter to make GOOD projects (while technic exist, but not in extreme way). K. Moore deserves much more attention, cause only with his good taste and kind of play he can create part of that piece of mastershit.

I agree with you about Portnoy.

  • LOVE this song.

I actually prefer Gavin's drumming on this song and for OSI in general..While MP comes up with great drum parts on the fly, GH's drumming seems more planned out (love the hip-hop kind of fill at 4:14 on this song) and I think it fits better with the OSI brand of songwriting.

  • Oh i dont know, yeah Portnoy i think has a more solid sound maybe, but you cant be Gavin's kick pedal work, nothing beats it.

plus i think he adds his own branding to a song.

  • I agree totally with you, Gavin here is not really different than in PT for example whereas mike involent in the songs was a total driving force, take The New Math for example or ShutDown, the drums were a huge part of the music.

Again i'm not disminishing Harrison's work, i'm just giving my fair share of thoughts

  • superb !!!!!!!!!

  • thanks for posting this fabulous track!
