The part where Lucy hands Vivian a green balloon instead of a blue one isn't a blooper. Notice that they skipped a scene since the blue balloon that was GOING to be giving to Vivian was cut to it already tied to the chair when the green balloon is given to her.

That is a result of very poor syndication editing. Lucy blows up the blue balloon, and hands it off to Viv, who starts griping about all the work she has to do then Lucy tells her she's in charge of pony rides. Then Lucy blows up the green balloon.

When they started filming in color, they went *very* heavy on the makeup (and blue eyeshadow). This was the first studio audience sitcom filmed in color, so it took some time to get things right.

Although filmed in color (excepot the first season) The Lucy Show did not air that way until the fall of 1965. Pretty smart filming in color as that would help the show in reruns. Thanks for posting this as I don't recall this episode.
