  • Almost all languages have a version of this song, in Sweden it is a popular song too but in Swedish translation.

  • @GoldenChantarelle Do you know the title of the Swedish song? I want to listen to this song in every language.

  • @TemplarX2 it's called Trettifyran (meaning "the 34" as in house number 34"

    watch?v=OUgiJ9dDT_Q

There is a youtube link of the song.

  • Les pommettes qu'elle a... diantre.

  • mooie vrouw, met een eerlijke boodschap....

  • Having always cherished Verdelle Smith's "Tar and Cement", I was delighted to come across this beautiful French version! Miss Hardy has a beautiful voice and sings this very nicely. Thank you for expanding my American mind!

  • Where did these beautiful chansons go? France was still France at that time. Wine, good food and we all said: "Living like God in France". That era is gone. Moreover, that France is gone. Too bad. Really.

  • @maxchannel121 It"s not a fake but a french translation of the Cenlentano's original.

  • mindblowing, absolument renversant, i am totally speechless.

  • @maxchannel121 "La maison où j'ai grandi" is a song that appears on the 1966 album release of Françoise Hardy. The album was released without title and is identified chiefly by this song, its major success. The original title of the song was "Il ragazzo della via Gluck", written by Adriano Celentano. Hardy had admired Celentano's autobiographical song having seen him perform it at the Festival della canzone italiana di Sanremo in January 1966. Eddy Marnay translated the song into French.

  • @kickfostermac Ok so to you feminist=lesbian? Man I dunno in what world you're living but I'm glad it's not mine >:| And if you open those little eyes of yours and try to look around and on the covers of magazines: girls in 2010 are all emulating icons from the 60s like Françoise Hardy with their haircuts and clothes so I really wonder where you've been looking...

  • Comment removed

  • @Wizlyy Bah, he must be really alone to complain about feminist, i mean, i know sometimes they can be a little extremist, but we are all women. And if he complains about them, he doesnt have a woman in his life. So let's not waste our time on him :)

  • @kickfostermac francoise hardy is a feminist.....ps You are ugly, don't waste your time looking any further than yourself.

  • @W012248 Hahahahahaha

  • i dont`t understand a word, but i love her i allways listen to her romance french songs, she remind me of angels....

  • @Chezgee7

    Bonjour..

  • nouvelle chanson ( abdel aime moi )

  • I love this song! I can only understand French! Not speak it!

  • I speak french I can explain what shes trying to share with this song... She say's that when people started to build a city they cutted all the woods and her family house disappeard beacause it was maybe on the construction site... and she says that shes dont know know were she live and were is her house... poor girl

  • I dont really understand much of what she is saying, but i am absolutely captivated by this beautiful girl with the beautiful voice!

  • @cherton not sure of your age so maybe it wont mean anything , but look up verdelle smith and tar and cement , there you will hear it in english

  • In the 1960's we in the UK used to scoff at Chanson. Cant you just imagine Cilla covering this and murdering it. That would be 'No Class' covering 'Pure Class'.

Thanks to jolly old Bill Cotton at Auntie BBC we had The Brit Girls on BBCTV whom with the exception of DUSTY were never a patch on the French Girls with their beautiful unique voices. Sumptuous ballads with majestic orchestration. FRANCOISE HARDY:- the finest singer France has ever known. MASTERPIECE. Sorry about the poor image quality

  • Versione francese, del tutto simile all'originale pure nelle parole...

    ....lei è assolutamente splendida!!!

  • English version "Tar and Cement" for those who dont understand french.

  • so very beautiful

  • @kilokamilo It's about the 'house where I grew up'. reminiscing on her childhood with roses in the garden. The trees have been replaced by the city. her friends are all gone, they thought it was great for her to leave and visit the world... but she knew she'd leave her heart behind, telling them she'd return one morning on a 'memory train'. She returns older but cannot find the stones, the roses, her friends, nor the house where she grew up. Et voila!

  • @plaruegb, pas mal comme résumé!

came upon Celentano's Via Gluck, remembered divine Françoise... et volilà!

  • @plaruegb Remind me a bit of myself and where I used to live as a child. I'm no emo, but I can't hold back the tears each i listen to this song.

  • Divine, elle est restée...

  • séquences souvenirs........j'aimai bien cette chanson!

  • Françoise Hardy, I love you!

  • Part of Francoise Hardy's brilliance as an artist is that she immerses herself completely in the material. Not only does she handle this monster classic (which some may recognize in as having also been recorded as Tar And Cement by Verdelle Smith) masterfully, but her every gesture is in perfect sync with changes in dynamics, mood and tempo. Pure genius!

  • She always gives us more than just music. There's the gentle force of her personality at work, and that's what makes her videos so interesting.

    Thanks for posting.
