When my wife and I were first going out (she is from Lanigan, SK. and I am from Poplar, Mt.) I was confused about what Smarties were. In the States they are a compressed sugar type candy with different flavors. In Canada they are "M&M's" Took awhile to wrap my mind around that.
well, yes they are almost the same and are very delicious but that is only true for the original m&m ones. m&m have many different ones like crunchy, almonds, peanuts, mini etc.

Yeah now they have all those different M&M's but back when my wife and I were first dating (24 years ago) all we had was regular and peanut, But I did like the Canadian Smarties as well. I also enjoyed Aero bars. That's another one we don't get down here and we don't get Mars bars anymore. I guess we will have to go visit my wife's relatives one of these days just so I can stock up on my candy supply. LOL! Peace.
